You can pause the game.

Not only can you pause the game, the game will pause itself mid-combat to give you helpful hints, for example what button to press to consume a health potion.
Sometimes the game will even pause itself with no way to unpause except killing it.

Act 1 done. The bosses are definitely the highlight of the game. Love the voice acting. Monster design is pretty cool in a macabre kinda way. Only died once so far, hope Act 2 picks up on that.

Melee nearly always suck in online RPGs.
To make a long rant short, 'tank' and 'damage dealer' archetypes shouldn't be separate when it comes to melee because of how powerful an advantage of being able to attack from range is.

Technically that has always been true in PoE, ex: As warrior just be a totem caster and ignore melee!

The main point here is that if you're an edgy developer like GGG tends to be and put LE SOULS LIKE COMBAT into your game, you should also realize that this whole ARPG fabric completely breaks down because a large part of class balance in those games stems from the fact that you mow down trash mobs in the 1000s per minute.

I have beaten the "campaign" as a melee warrior. Having a lot of fun and getting into end game content now. If you are struggling in act 1 you are a noob and I'm laughing at you

I refuse to play any online game in hardcore because I'm not about to lose dozens/hundreds of hours of work to an internet outage or lagspike.

I just play games as a casual because I'm too fat and ******** to play without a bag of cheetos in my lap. If a game is too hard I just turn it off and go back to Gun Smoke.

Yeah, it is ******** . I wonder how large it actually has to be? I remember ARK was ridiculous in file size for download from Steam and then I ran across the complete game (all expansions) that a repacker did and the storage size of it was only 40gbs (compared to Steams roughly 150 gb download). They are getting so lazy these days.

I made a Mercenary yesterday and played for a few hours. Got all the way through the cemetery. I can sense that the game wants me to combo things somehow, but, right now, my highest DPS seems to still be just shooting things with my lightning-and-poison-enhanced basic bolts. Still fun, though. Feels like playing a top down shooter. I don't like the way misses work, though. It's hard to tell what's a misclick and what's the enemy evading my attack.
