New denuvo ******* group - DELUSIONAL

Post by Yankee Zulu »

There used to be a denuvo ******* nicknamed EMPRESS. For those who isnot in the know she (nobody knows actually) disappeared some time ago leaving the void of uncracked games behind.

So now theres another player - DELUSIONAL. He started a month or so ago with an old Handball game. He cracked like 4 or 5 games since then. The latest being Star Wars Battlefront. Whether he is going to crack new releases remains to be seen.

EMPRESS trooned out and lost his mind.
Now, after some time, we have DELUSIONAL...

Coincidence?
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

You can't be right in the head and crack DENUVO games for free. Then also being a ***** is a likely coincidence

Interesting that it had Denuvo + VMProtect, as VMProtect is a precursor to Denuvo.

when it comes to Denuvo ********, you legitimately have to be mentally ******** to possess that kind of skillset and waste it on cracking games for what is essentially nothing compared to the kind of money you could earn legally in cybersecurity with that kind of expertise - not to mention all the legal risks.

Why do you think cracking is a full time job? lol

These people probably spend 40 hours a week in a mind numbing corporate environment and use this hobby to test their skills.

Some sure, but so many of them are attention-seeking narcissists who clearly have cracking as their whole identity so I disagree overall.

main reason nobody cracks denuvo is because they're serious about going after people with criminal charges, which greatly limits the countries where people can crack it and get away with it

Only precedent I know is Voksi who AFAIK has always made his identity explicitly known or at least pretty easy to find. Any other such case? AFAIK most ******** remain anonymous and have never said they don't crack DENUVO because of fear of facing charges

Burn down cities causing billions of dollars of damage, no problem... no jail time.

Crack a game that people who pirate it weren't going to pay for even if they couldn't pirate it... Yeah... lets put all the resources into that!

It is extremely easy to anon drop something on the net and nobody knows where it came from (especially if you are into cracking/hacking). Not sure why they are so afraid to be honest.

They aren't, they don't crack because either they don't know how or it's too much effort for too little reward, and a lot of them have already admitted that.

Doubt it's "her", if it was, she would be cracking newer titles instead of older ones clearly showing they still are learning the process.

Some say it was Voksi behind the EMPRESS, a bulgarian guy who used to crack denuvo before authorities cracked him.

What's up with Empress, Skidrow, and Voksi?
emoji:answered: Answered
I see stuff about how the major players in game piracy are fighting. I understand it's something to do with Denuvo, and I see comments have been made in nfo files. I've also seen something about an accusation that Voksi (who I am not familiar with) is actually Empress. Just struggling to find all the pieces of this puzzle.

Answer: Empress called out Skidrow in her NFO for Judgment, accusing them of only knowing how to exploit unity, and that they arent actually removing denuvo from their games. Skidrow responds in their NFO on "Fe" saying a couple things:

They claim Empress is "Voksi", a Bulgarian denuvo breaker that was sued by denovo and then went dark/ceased breaking denuvo (Voksi himself denies these claims)

They state that DRM "protects legitmate interests of actual hard working people, that are entities to get a decent income from their hard effort" despite breaking denuvo and being a part of the piracy scene themselves.

They then break down each of empress' claims, two parts to the denovo on Fe and they did actually break it, and they accept Empress' challenge to break a non-unity game with denuvo on the condition that Empress releases a porno of herself while breaking denuvo.

Because people who spend 40 hours a week in a mind numbing job aren't going to both spend this amount of time creating some gay l33t hacker identity and have too much to lose to risk criminal charges over cracking video games for zero return.
There's a reason so many people like this or big mod authors tend to be deranged NEETs rotting away with infinite time to soak into niche hobbies.

That's because DRM used to be really easy to hack, so it was actually relaxing for experienced reverse engineers to crack. Denuvo is just hard enough to crack to make it require someone with serious reverse engineering skills, which combines with the litigious nature of Denuvo and the DMCA to make it a lot less attractive to crack.

Considering nuDenuvo requires a subscription, there is no point in even cracking newer games, since companies will drop Denuvo after the initial sales (1+ years) anyway.

This group disappeared into the nothingness. Some say denuvo is no longer popular to crack because of the so called "offline activations" which you can buy for like 1 dollar.

Anyway

Which is likely far more a cost than the actual loss of pirating. I don't know how it is now, but there was some research done a while ago that found that the bulk of pirating is done by people who would never buy the game even if they could not gain access to it in such a manner. Unless things have changed, their desire to pinch the pennies for whatever minor gain they get from blocking piracy is costing them more and creating the massive headaches that these implementations bring (ie the claims of downgraded performance, bugs, etc...).

It is that old adage of pinching pennies while losing dollars.

I think they do this because they push out slop and more people are unwilling to spend the money on the high price tags for garbage games. Add in that not only are many of the titles horrible games on their face, but filled with social programming that is blatantly obvious and the result is either avoiding purchase or pirating.

If they actually made solid games with true intent to deliver that goal, they likely wouldn't have notable revenue loss. Accepting piracy as a simple reality to the business has been something good developers have always realized, but knew that if their game was solid and honest in its attempt, it wouldn't matter anyway, it would be successful.

I think the only ones that I remember who had issues with pirating back in the day was the Sierra adventure games, but they even admitted that they sold well regardless and pointed out that they made the bulk of their money on the hint lines and this was the time when pirating was as easy as having an extra disk and hitting copy.

Yup, also don't factor the cost of the anti piracy measures in the first place, which are often fooking ridiculous.
Such has put me off (or even bothering pirating!) Many a game, now that's the cost of the anti piracy R&D AND the game sale lost, due to implementing it vs a potential sale if not.

I think you buy a Steam account with the game for a few dollars and get a Denuvo token that works for a month as long as you play in offline mode and don't update your OS or any drivers. The seller has to handle a bunch of junk for you and you have to pay for any updates that come out as well. It does allegedly work though.

I've never done it and am not responsible for anything silly that happens
