I like the combat in these style of games, it's much closer to my ideal in action games than souls-like on one end vs arkham-likes on the other. Soulslike rely far too much on reacting to the enemy, arkham-likes are the player controlling the combat. Games like this are more like a dance where you're struggling back and forth on who controls the combat flow, being overly aggressive requires you to quickly correct to defensive.
Played it on hard, one down from the hardest difficulty.

Playing on Lethal, which increases enemy damage as well as Jin's. One hit from most enemies is a death, two max so far. Felt pretty cool when I perfect parried a fort boss and did 80% of his health with a single stroke. Really helps with the theme of honor vs taking the easy way out.

Played it enough to get a feel for it, going to put it aside for now.
I thought you would've beaten it already.

I was looking forward to this but I will wait until the PSN account stuff is either removed or I will go and get the superior version elsewhere, their choice.

I remember something about an emulator being worked on to play Bloodborne specifically on PC in the future, is that something at all feasible, or is it just a passion project that might as well be discarded in the end after years of work?
I recall Dolphin emulator something being able to play wii games on pc.

There's no functional PS4 emulator or one with significant progress, most likely due to the PS4 having 1-2 titles worth playing in total.

There are three and a half: Bloodborne, Gravity Rush 2, The Last Guardian, and the Shadow of the Colossus remake (I guess one could play the PS2 original).

Its another one of those 'open world' question check marks games. You played one of them, you played them all.

'But mah story...'

Go watch a jap samurai movie. Itll have a better story and wont require dozens of hours.

The combat is fun. It's a playable samurai movie, I got exactly what I expected.

Played it when it came out on the PS4 then returned it a week later to the shop and got my money back once I finished up all the important stuff. Not much to do in the endgame or worth replaying it unless there is an active modding community. Liked it that the wind and animals guide you to stuff and not a magic marker, combat was also fun. Just the loot and rewards were rather weak. But overall it plays too much like an Ubisoft game and thats why I returned it, but at least I managed to finish it compared to AC Odyssey.

Character just says "Jin."
Subtitles say "Master Sakai."
It's one thing to not speak Japanese, but do they have to put so much effort into being wrong for no reason? Also seen an instance where "(laughter)" was written when nobody laughed because they're just lazily using the localized script as subtitles.

The game was written in English and translated to Japanese. Inaccuracies are errors on the translation to Japanese not from it, the English subtitles are the definitive script.

And btw nine years ago today The Twitcher 3 was released. I don't think these kind of games ever surpassed it since then. GoT is barebones compared to Twitcher.

Fellow *******,

my internet is down today, but I'm using my phone mobile data just to say I played this game for about 2 minutes and it's complete and utter garbage. You start off with a bunch of ****** facing off against some other ****** that want to burn their mudhuts and rape their women. So far so good, mudhuts and holes are a good excuse for chopping some people up. However, I was immediately caught off guard by my usual strategy of mashing all buttons to skip the cutscene ASAP simply not working. After a quick google search I learned that you CANNOT skip cutscenes in this game, much like in the new God of War. So I hit alt f4, uninstalled and review bombed it. Not making the same mistake twice, unskippable cutscenes means trash game for soy filled bugmen.

I think out of my two minutes I had about 20 seconds of gameplay until my ***** tripped on something and fell into another scripted cutscene. WELL, into the trash you go, enjoy the company of other amazing cinematic titles such as God of War and Metal Gear V. Shame about the refund, apparently Steam only refunds games you actually purchase. Oh well, there's always next time.

TL;DR: developers that make unskippable cutscenes deserve to be tortured, killed, raped and their remains should be fed to their children shortly before they meet the same fate.
