Fallout 5 may come out sooner than you think

XBOX WANTS THE NEXT FALLOUT GAME TO COME SOONER, IT’S CLAIMED

In recent weeks, we’ve seen the Fallout TV show released to an overwhelmingly popular reception and the player counts across the entire catalogue of games skyrocket on all platforms. On the other hand, we also saw the Fallout 4 next-gen update release in a woeful state, disappointing fans worldwide. Now, it has been claimed that Xbox is hyper-aware of the anticipation for the next Fallout game and is eager to explore opportunities to make that arrive sooner rather than later.

Presently, it’s expected that the next Fallout game – potentially just ‘Fallout 5’ – won’t arrive until the 2030s. Bethesda Game Studios needs to finish the development on Starfield and then create and release The Elder Scrolls 6. It was recently revealed that a playable build of The Elder Scrolls 6 exists, but it’s years from completion. With that in mind, and taking into consideration the recent popularity explosion of the Fallout franchise, it comes as no surprise that Xbox wants to expedite the development of Fallout 5.

On a recent episode of The Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden claimed that ‘the company is aware’ of the demand for the Fallout label, and everyone is acutely aware of how successful the next title in the series will be. At this point, one of the only avenues the company could take to speed up the development of Fallout 5 is to take it away from Bethesda Game Studios entirely. That would make it the first major Fallout game not developed by Bethesda since 2010’s Fallout New Vegas.

I hope so. I also hope they kick Emil to the curb too. Hopefully we will be entering stage 9 of the 12 part cycle of what happens when a nerd hobby becomes mainstream which is: "The creative spark of the hobby dies. It becomes corporate and sterile. Normies lose interest and leave."
Maybe soon Fallout will finally die and it's desecrated corpse will no longer be paraded around by iconoclasts. It can then finally be allowed to rest.

Interplay deserves Fallout back because they might be apolitical, they may need further evaluation but yeah.

Also I think MSFT is going to screw up the lore even more in the name of ESG shekels now that they own Beth.

Sweet Baby Inc has been out of business lately, glad to see Xbox is finding a new title to sort them out!

More like Starflop failed so hard when it was expected to sell xbox game pass (which is in the "hemorrhage money to try and build a subscriber base" phase right now) and Phil Spencer is cracking the whip for bethesda to get their black asses in gear and make something that will sell before he gets kidnapped and shipped to the Bill Gates mosquito rape farms for wasting so much of Microsoft's money.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

The show is a hit with the normies and Microsoft wants to ride that gravy train. I would laugh a huge laugh if they gave it to Obsidian.

Guess they can give it to Obsidian once they realeased Avowed. Not that they will ever make a game like Fallout New Vegas again but they arent much different when it comes to the quality compared to Bethesda these days.

Does MicroSoft even have a single competent developer in their roster?

Smells like ********.

If they really wanted to cash in on the current hype and milk the casuals, some quick slop along the lines of Fallout Shelter/FSO would make a lot more sense as opposed to an actual mainline title. Obsidian still has The Outer World 2 to work on even once Avowed is done, and whatever profit MS could get from FO5 still pales in comparison to the kind of cash and hype TES VI will generate, so Bethesda suddenly swapping its development in favor of Fallout is out of question too.

There were rumors from a while back that they really wanted "New Vegas" 2 to happen. I imagine they're pushing that again. Sawyer's drawing a $210k/year salary doing hardly anything.
