Hey guys, did you hear about the TRUE and HONEST sequel to Wasteland? Wasteland 2 is fake and ghey. Electronic Arts made a real sequel back in the 80s and it's a [glow=green]hidden gem![/glow] It looks like Wasteland and plays like Wasteland, except that it's a lot harder because back then real men played games, not wimps. It also takes place in Florida so you know that's good. It also has a cool mutation system and stuff like killer clowns (not from outer space). It even has shotguns, did Wasteland have shotguns? No, it sucks.

The graphics are also way better than Wasteland. What the hell are you waiting for? Download this game from your abandonware site of choice and play it right now!

I'm actually playing it right now.
Pretty sure I'm enjoying it more than I did shortly after release. Is it great? Nah, but it ain't horrible neither.
Is Wasteland 3 worth playing?

Wasteland 3 is more "streamlined" than 2, so take that for what it's worth. The humor is very try-hard cringy all throughout and doesn't let up. Almost all combat requires an Alpha strike. While there is some branching, the story is much more "illusion of choice" than it seems. Most situations are only 2 possible outcomes, not matter how much nuance they try to make you think is there.

Personally, I liked W2DC better than 3.

I still think Angela has been replaced by a synth. Everything that she does in 3, and most things in 2, only destabilize the Rangers. Either that or it's the first time a woman has been realistically portrayed in an RPG.

You can gain max 33 Attributes points at max 35 lvl. Soo you gain 1 Attributes point at lvl from lvl 3. Or some think like this. And inteligence don't work for skill points in game. You can gain bonus from it in character creator but in game you always gain 3 skill on lvl no matter you have 2 or 10 inteligence. :(
It's my fault for even asking, should have known.
Why even ******* have character building in an RPG if you're just going to invalidate every single choice the player can make by giving him enough points to nearly max everything out.

If I remember right, unless they added levels in the DLCs, you could only max 3 skills, and (I think) 5 if you took Poindexter, or whatever the Intelligence quirk is that reduces CON.

I played OG Wasteland 2 for awhile, but somewhere along the way I kind of lost interest and then they announced they'd be fixing the game and making a director's cut so I waited and never got back around to playing it.

Yes, it's one of the main issues I have with Wasteland 3 which was much sillier than Wasteland 2. Anytime they attempt to make something appear serious it just falls flat on its face because the setting is so ridiculous.
Fallout being a much more serious setting as a baseline with having bits that are silly was a better choice.

"This is a workbench that looks perfect for repairing all sorts of broken appliances, like toasters!"

EDIT: And then you realize why you keep finding all those broken toasters that you've probably thrown away or sold.

It was a novelty in the first game, then it became cringe when they reintroduced it as a real mechanic.
You just had your robot get the loot out of the toasters at a workbench in the first game.

Many such cases. Obscure minor little aspect of the game became a popular community joke and got fanserviced into oblivion.

You can skip Darwin if you hit Citadel first and fix the toasters. There's a key in one of them.
