Baldur's Gate 3 - The Dark Urge (Spoilers!)

Post by AliciaDurge »

Hey, what are your opinions on BG3's Durge? I just finished the playthrough with redemption arc, it was really rewarding and cool playthrough. I love how morally grey the character is and the potential to go which way you want with it. I'm gonna try evil durge run at some point. Also, the romance between redeemed Durge and spawn Astarion was so worth it.

It's the correct way to play the game imo, also the natural successor of BG1 and 2 plot

I'll try it when the game is finished updating/every last No Alphabets microissue has been resolved. I'll even let Astarion live this time.

Having the beaten the game first as "Tav" (that name ******* sucks btw) and then going back as the Durge it's pretty clear a lot more effort was put into the Durge playthrough and it's far more interesting to play.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

True, Durge's plot ties so well in the main plot.

Makes sense that a lot of the act 3 nonsense would be more fitting if it were personal.

You should let him live, he's a really funny and charming character. He has interesting and realistic personality. Very relatable, too. This is my opinion though lol.

There's just a lot more funny/interesting moments throughout the game too. A lot of flavor that you don't get as the generic guy.

I agree, but I'll try out Tav and other Origin characters just for the experience.

His fatal flaw was being gay at me without any leverage. Halsin held that nature's ally **** above my head before his rape attempts.

True. My durge was a bard and she played with Alfira. The surprise after it did hit a spot.

He's bi IIRC. And um, how did Hanson try to rape you? Genuine question since he didn't try to rape me. Was it a bug?

Also, Astarion is flirty and flamboyant with everyone. It's his tactic to charm people on his side.

I'm tempted to roll Durge, take Shadowheart, and then just pick up Minsc and Jaheira, and just pretend it's 2003. But only after they're done patching it, and alphabet stink has been scrubbed out.

I don't treat the game as dating simulator tho. The romance comes or it will not come, I really don't care as long as the game is great.

The "Tav" is from "Gustav". I don't know why they shortened it.

All the characters are "bi". I thought Gale was a cool guy and thought we could be friends. Fell for the whole "you wanna see a magic trick" bit.

The story is actually quite disjointed and feels like it went through a major rewrite with a lot of traces of the prior story still there. As if they wanted to write a story where the player was Durge, then later decided to make playing Durge optional.

Tav sounds pretty (((tribal))). I wonder if there's a reason for that...

You can imagine being just friends with him in that scene or just decline it. I did it on my first playthrough and he treated me as a friend afterwards, even though I played as a woman. But there has been a bug with Gale trying to hit on everybody, like something in romancing him is buggy.

I think tav was chosen as a neutral name, and then you can just customize the name?
