Don't know why people disagreed with you here. That's exactly the strict focus on profitability that Rusty talked about. Fact is that's sadly the thing that profits most. Making good, honest games doesn't profit that much in plenty cases. Bioware wasn't swimming in money with BGs, Black Isle and Interplay went bankrupt despite making some of the best games in history, Troika also went bankrupt soon after making VTMB.

BG3 made bank but a EA football slop profits way more.
