4 player co-op shooter. There are currently two enemy factions, the Arachnids from Starship Troopers and the Chaos Space T-1000s with a third faction on the way.
Before each mission you'll decide what sort of strategems you want to bring for the team, including nukes, heavy weaponry that can be operated by two people, orbital lasers, shield generators and much more with mechs coming in an update.

It does have a sketchy anti-virus and you should absolutely do your own research on it before you buy, or there's crossplay if you have a PS5 for some reason. There's also a battlepass system where everything in the free and premium pass is unlocked exclusively with in-game currency that cannot be bought. The premium currency is for rotating skins (free armors have the exact same stats and effects) and unlocking the premium pass itself, although you also earn premium currency from playing the game.

Looks like it could be fun. No way I'm paying 40 buckarinos for it though.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

The original was a fun top down shooter to play for a while with friends. Now it looks totally generic and comes with a rootkit, so apparently it doesn't work on Linux and also needs the Windows virus installed. Not sure what is with indie devs wanting to ruin their unique shooters this way, Risk of Rain was another recent one where they made it go from a 2D "action platformer with roguelike elements" to yet another boring twitch 3D shooter while even releasing an inferior "remastered" version of the original game. Seems similar here, looks like the original even got a "free upgrade" with who knows what horrible changes to it.

Doesn't really play like anything else. I'd say a Wildlands/WWZ hybrid is close.

With regards to the guy getting kicked for asking for a *** flag,
It's amusing how I can see **** would cause massive division in combat just from playing a video game.

If I had a *** on my team I'd either leave, teamkill them, and/or never assist them at all.

Could have also been some random discord ****** janny, not Arrowhead themselves.

But considering how most companies work nowadays, they'd probably bend the knee anyway.

We may never know. Almost no chance they're moderating this with their employees anyway.

According to this thread the dev asked on their official Discord, which they say in the thread is ran by them, "Should there be ***** flags in the game?" and someone answered "No, because it doesn't fit the universe lore" and they banned him for giving the wrong answer.

I think it was just a Discord ban, not the game itself, and it sounds like it was referring to implementing them as capes, since apparently soldiers of the future should be wearing gay ***** flag capes and they felt like trapping anyone who doesn't give them the affirmative they want to adding them.

They (? not sure if it's the dev or valve, I don't use steam forums) went and banned some people in the thread for opposing it too and for calling Discord mods powertripping crybabies, although of course not anybody with the correct, approved opinions bashing all those people actually in the thread and the OP ever got banned. They even started looking through the OP's post history after they made their account private. Then Valve locked the thread for being "non-productive argument", as opposed to all the productive arguments there must be on that forum.
