NYTimes accidentally wades into a years old argument to confirm that yes, playing as a woman in a video game does make you a ****** https://archive.is/Fp8G7
So if you played Horizon Zero Dawn or Metroid you are a ****** now? So what does it make someone if you play a game where you play as an alien/blob or some other monster?
I don't think games in which you can't choose the protagonist's sex count, though there are people who refuse to even play games with a female protagonist.
Since most gameplay is almost identital nowadays no matter if you choose a woman or man and if you play in first person like skyrim or top down like in baldurs gate it hardly matters I think. Its not that most games nowadays allow you like fallout1/2 to ***** arround to make extra money.

Horizon, yes. Metroid? No. Context is important. Horizon is propaganda whereas Metroid is just a game.
Well the gameplay was too much like Ubisoft games but the first game at least had great background lore. Even if I do agree that the evil guy was ofc a white man named Ted Faro and the women were all good and all man idiots but back then when I played I didnt really pay attention to that yet.

Managers at Larian Studios credited transgender and nonbinary employees for improving the character creator that contributed to the success of the role-playing game Baldurβs Gate 3. One of this yearβs most celebrated releases, the game was praised for its customizability and branching story lines that capture the spontaneity of tabletop Dungeons & Dragons games.
βWe definitely learned that we needed to be very open-minded and not restrict ourselves,β said Alena Dubrovina, an art director at Larian who oversaw the character creator. βA huge design pillar was allowing players to live their ultimate fantasies.β
An important step toward that goal was the decision to include genitals among the physical traits that could be customized, with different shapes available.
Gender expression makes little difference to the gameβs narrative, which some transgender players celebrated. βThose decisions are just for us,β Vind said. βYou choose those options, and everyone will treat your character normally.β
Rotfl!
You could omit the character creator from BG3 and just have a half-dozen decent presets for each race and sex and it would be just as good a game.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.
Playing as a female character has always been a massive red flag. Even the cope (lie) answer of "hurr durr Im gonna have to stare at an *** for hours!" still makes someone out to be a massive coomer which is also a path to trooning out anyway. Every person I've known who regularly played as a female in games ended up trooning out in some form or another.
Lol. I enjoyed watching hot Lara running and jumping around in Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld and I am neither coomer nor in any danger of being less male.
Correlation vs. causation. The bane of many arguments.

I've always despised those people who talk about "i'd rather look at her ***", it sounds like when idiots talk about how "two chicks kissing is sooo hot".
I'm glad my internal instinct to always play as a male character just to own the libs was correct.
That depends. Two hot women kissing in a sexy way is hot. The rest isn't, not even a little.

Huh?. If anything it's more normal to prefer playing as an attractive woman in a game, if you're a man. Unless you genuinely prefer staring at a man's *** for 10+ hours of gametime?.

Is this also the excuse you gave your dad as to why you picked out Barbie toys?

Someone's clearly projecting here, and it's not me.

Various studies have shown boys prefer masculine toys and girls prefer feminine toys, regardless of any outside interference or cultural context.
So why are you picking the feminine toy?

So disregarding this inane ad-hominem trolling, I suppose you mean to say that everyone who enjoys a game like Tomb Raider and finds Lara Croft appealing has to be a sodomite?. Just think about that for a minute. This is some boomer-tier nonsense I'm reading.

No less ******** than stating any man who plays as an attractive female in a game as "gay". There is an argument to be made about self-insert characters in an RPG, but in other cases?, nah.

As I've said, there is a case to be made about such a thing being a negative influence in RPGs, where you design a female character to be your "self-insert". But if the distinction of the character you're playing as being 100% fictional and independent of yourself is made, I do not see a problem whatsoever. So long as the female character is attractive, both in looks and in personality. i.e she isn't snarky and a girlboss, which is typical nowadays obviously.
Correlation does not imply causation. I'd wager anime, single parenthood, and the public school system has a greater effect on young boys becoming ******** than playing as Lara Croft, or as this character from Stellar Blade, can possibly do. You are employing the same logic as the age old "violent games causes violence" narrative. Although witnessing violent imagery does affect you in some way (negatively perhaps), it does not itself make you a killer or one that revels in real-world violence and suffering. So too does playing as an attractive woman in a game not make you a sodomite or a ******.
