It's a mystery if her self-insert in The Outer Worlds is an intentional clown with her immature rebellious attitude despite being well into adulthood.
Considering that Dollarhyde asexual **** also had a self-insert it seems deliberate

The self-inserting is deliberate I'm talking about whether or not she's meant to be intentionally self-deprecating.

Ellie is an estrosoy power fantasy. Is that even self-deprecating?

In her personal quest she takes you to meet her parents and acts like such a bratty child I wonder if the point is in fact to laugh at her.

On the outside we get terrible games, but on the inside?, I struggle to think of what goes on.

Yes perhaps, I can see that

edit: whether she meant that as deliberate depreciation of herself or whether she sees that as actually pretty badass ... you be the judge

Have we considered the possibility that Eora may be a planet within the universe of The Outer Worlds? Thinking of making a YouTube video about this.

Avowed is like Skyrim with swords and magic.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

I never played Skyrim. Maybe I should just skip it and go straight for Avowed.

Zero percent chance. This game is destined for the bargain bin within 6 months like the Outer Worlds.

I think this will be significantly worse than the Outer Worlds and I consider that to be one of the worst games ever made. These awful bethclone slop games full of quirkster humor and lacking all the soul that made the original style of games enjoyable are one of the most ridiculous wasting of resources and time I have ever seen. I feel awful for the one or two competent employees trapped in these offices making the occasionally cool art design or quest idea only for it to be warped and dissected into a mockery by weak men, ********, and girlbosses.

At least the inevitable Reddit cope posts will be amusing when the game comes out and fails miserably.

It won't be moddable therefore inherently worse than Skyrim.

I hope they go for an epic games store exclusivity deal like they did with Outer Worlds to really smother any chance of success in the cradle again

That was a Private Division decision, Microsoft isn't going to be doing that.

Its the ******* humour and the writing in general that'll strangle it in the cradle. I can put up with bad animations, bad art, bad voice acting, lacklustre world building, even perhaps flawed gameplay. But they'll make sure to dial up the soy cringe to 11 and that's what'll make the whole experience sickening.

It's the insistence on making every new fantasy and sci-fi work be a microcosm of modern-day California that bothers me the most. Why would a fantasy race ever stylise their hair like a zoomer?, or talk in Joss Whedon lingo?. Why would there be black dwarves or elves?, or sodomites in a post-apocalyptic world?. Their slop can't even stay consistent within it's own setting.

Pretty much every newspiece from Obsidian regarding this game has been negative thus far.

"No, this isn't going to be a Skyrim-like, we had to downscale the game".
"No, you can't play as Aonuma".
"No romances, you can't kill or dismiss a party member"
"No different skill trees for different classes, sorry".
"No playable dwarves or godlikes".
No playable orlans either, just humans and elves".
"Day/night cycle won't affect the gameplay in any way".
"No, there are no minigames".

I commend them for being honest, but it's kind of a funny way to market a game.

It's crazy how people still fall for the "Yea everything in the trailers which are specifically designed to be the best showcases possible to interest people look like **** but the game isn't even out yet! I'm sure they can fix all of the games fundamentals in a few months :D "

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

It's going to be delayed for another year, mark my words. And after sinking another 10-20 million into it, it'll launch, fail, and be sold for half price a week later.

lack of romances is also a positive thing.

I only pointed it out because Obsidian managed to reveal this in a very negative way.

It is still very awkward to market a game based off of features a game wont have.

so-called 'minigames' and similar are palette cleansers. Essential for a good game, but destroy it when overused.

Any game that has a solid gambling mini-game that I can play at social hubs and equivalents automatically go up 1 point for me

Yeah **** lockpicking minigames every 5 minutes, but some nice Arcomage clone would be a good fit for almost any rpg.
