finally fix Minthara's romance among all the other things

that screenshot i posted on the previous page? that was their answer to my question about Minthara's romance lmao. found a possible fix on preddit, except i had to delete my save with her route (got corrupted after deleting shittone of mods), now playing from the beginning again, yet to conform whether it works or not .__.

I managed to play up to the Baldur's Gate lower city to check on things to see if it would be worth making a serious attempt at playing this game, and unless Minthara's romance ends with having the option to kiss her (no break up option nor anything else) and her saying "tonight" or something to that effect, then no, I can confirm it is still bugged. Minthara also has the least amount of reactions to anything compared to the rest of the companions, as if she was begrudgingly allowed to stay as a companion but hated by the woke cult because she is not a man or fat or whatever it is they might hate about her. (Also, if you want to recruit her by knocking her unconcious and saving the grove, it bugged for me and I had to use this mod to make the option work https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1713 , make sure to install it before you have EVER entered the Shadowcursed lands of Moonrise, can be installed at any point otherwise, even after the camp celebration, which I recommend because the mod makes her run away, making it impossible to loot her gear. The mod can be safely removed once Minthara is in the team but ****. This game is a mess if you look close enough, it is sad. So much that was working before is also either missing or janky now as well. I am still hoping they will finally restore Volo's camp ballad and Zevlor's scene where he speaks of the starry sky ).

I'm so glad I wasn't nuts after all when I saw his full release face. Using the EA mesh, he's infinitely better, though it also makes it more obvious that they did indeed **** up his facial animation. Why? Someone went to all this trouble, and it somehow got approved. At no point did anyone say, "Huh... These changes make him look like a goofy gremlin thing now. Not sure how someone making these creepy faces could possibly seduce people successfully. Let's not fix what isn't even broken." (Of course, Larian's specialty is fixing what isn't broken, and pointlessly changing things without solicitation.) The new face they gave him makes him genuinely unpleasant to look at. A complexion edit helps a great deal either way, but he really needs his EA face to bring back the magic he used to have.

That being said, he got done dirty by whoever's in charge of the face textures (among other characters). As an elf, he should look ageless, more still as a vampire. Larian's constant disregard of lore and insistence upon making everyone look old is bizarre. Bitter and envious older people behind the visual designs perhaps?

So many unnecessary changes from EA, so much cut content. It's truly sad. Not sure how they didn't realize how some of their changes and content cuts make the game even more lifeless than it was.

Sorry for double post, I also wanted to say thank you for uploading that comparison images to let people see a bit of the congregation of alphabets that have been purged from this game. It sickens me to the core to see that, besides Nocturne, every "*****" is a child. Sick fucks.

i agree with the voice, but i think Larian shouldn't have used the word "elf" when introducing Ketheric through flashbacks MULTIPLE times. just like they shouldn't have used "handsome young man" to Gortash whoever that ******* imbecile is, it hated concept art Gortash more than it hated cc head presets.

Astarion was 38 when he got turned, he looks younger than that so I think they did right here.

Ketheric is a half-elf. He can have a beard....

I hope someone will pester them enough to make these things be "unlocked" or something. I truly thought Zevlor would be a companion as well, instead he is disposed of and they placed a woman tiefling to bad mouth him, because he is an "incompetent male" of course, a karen that also takes his place (same armor as well if I am not mistaken).

For those interested in restoring things, I also found this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5957 which restores Gortash's letters to have a certain side to them, which was, apparently, cut to appeal to the Japanese release or something, same as sounds during sex scenes being cut (though I cannot vouce for the veracity of this as I cannot recall one way or the other about those).
The only reason I can think of to why they modified Gortash's letters is because, like with Solas in Dragon Age Inquisition (who was originally meant to be a romance for both sexes) is that they don't want to have the "stereotype that bisexual is evil" or something like that, as said by a writer from Inquisition when asked why they cut things. Their mentality is beyond illogical to me.

100% I honestly thought the elf in question was some sort of necromantic sorcerer we would meet in Moonrise that would be Nere 2.0, raiser of the undead. Guess I was HALF(elf) off on that.
As for Gortash's concept art, thank you for bringing this to my attention! I will give an eye to those mods that modify him then. I made my own version using the Gortash Malfoy mod as base, but if he indeed used to have long hair, I might look into changing that as well (though it would be a hassle to also switch out all the paintings and portraits of him, and I am no artist. It is good to know either way!).

It is not alphabet cult related, but I find it strange how he was changed and both softened and made to have that strange looped smile, this restores Astarion to how he originally was.

I honestly might be tripping here, but I kind of like that his smile is so... wide, slightly uncanny and creepy, but he's still handsome.

I had it, but I threw up in my mouth at how horrible character customization was and then they released statement about "How the most generic white dude can be the most popular template for character in EA?!?!? First of all, generic white dude was arguably the best looking one.
Second of all, I don't understand how their analytics can't get that: if a game is in early access and people have to restart playthrough again and again and again - it is convenient to take one of good templates and just not care about character creation. They didn't think about that at all?

Their stupid statement at time made me cringe so much I promptly forgot about BG until full release and boy hooooo boy what a ride it's been so far. With all the unnecessary changes I learn about from other people, cut content and general disgust act 3 brings

I had to install Gortash facelift in some combination cause I absolutely could not handle the "handsome young man with an easy smile" being Gortash as he is in vanilla game.
Also, with him having Jason Isaacs' voice? Get out of here Larian.
The voice, the mannerisms it was all so amazing and was never sitting well in my head with how he looks.
It's like someone went out of their way to make "handsome" into "hobo-chic" or something like that.
Urgh, this just makes me think Gortash got butchered on purpose cause you just can't have a nice male character in this game. It's so upsetting.

From what I recall from the statement they were just, but I might be reading it wrong, commenting in a joking way that players have so much variety, and yet they decide to use a white dude as their main (like going to a gala and the chefs are all proud to present their dishes and I go "I'll take some water from the tap, thank you.") From my memory of it, "journalists" spun it as being a big deal, but Larian themselves weren't stuck up about it (again, I could be wrong).

In short, they are nobodies that get payed to ruin your game by getting hired as "consultants" on how to "diversify" it or make it for "modern audiences" or "modern sensibilities" or other such idiocies. They showcase their "talent" proudly though, so you can easily see what game and what company they have infected and know to stay away from it (if a game feels like soy, they are involved next to 99% of the time).

I am with you. I stopped looking up things about Larian after the game was released. If it wasn't for the fact I always sided with Nere to free him of the Absolute in Grymforge I probably would have gotten the warning signs sooner seeing as half the svirfneblin (deep gnome) population is gay in this game.

My character successfully stealthed into listening on gnome's conversation when the rummage was still in way, there you learn that one of the guys is gay with his husband being trapped with Nere. I'm like, well... unnecesaary af information, but whatever, moving on. Then you get to Philomeen, who out of nowhere talks about her girlfriend too. And I was already starting to get alarms going off in my head. And - bless the NoAlphabets - I never got to see myself how gay the foundry was, cause I had mod installed already. But every other gnome is gay? Again?
Despite me appreciating meanie that Nere is, I had to side with gnomes for "good" playthrough.
It's going to suck when I finally ally with Nere and have to kill now straight and wholesome gnomes. But I'll just imagine they are all vanilla.

But after seeing so many people speak fondly of the games, I really want to give it a chance.

I highly recommend it! Though I also recommend to brace yourself if you are going to play Siege of Dragonspear (an expansion for the first Baldur's Gate) and grab any mod that is on here about it. (They make Minsc spout nonsense and there is an unkillable man that pretends to be a woman, the only options are to learn more about his past and no option at all to tell him to **** off with the unnecessary information). I personally like the first one, but like the second one only in parts and hardly remember much of it besides how stuffed full of companions they wanted me to be (and the only one I truly loved HEAVY SPOILER-> gets killed. "Yoshimo is willing!".). Another similar game, my favourite, that I would recommend is Ice Wind Dale 2 and Pillars of Eternity (which also has a sequel, but they made boat travel take away much of the exploration that I loved).
