I don't pay attention to jiggle physics, but to me they add to the feeling of "grime and blood", particularly if it is a gloomy game about survival (I have not played too much of it yet, but an example would be Conan Exiles). When I realized they added physics to clothes etc., and realized that they also included the men, I took it for granted they were also there for the women. That they are excluded for "reasons", which I can only guess are "stop sexualizing womxn!" or some other mental nonsense, only adds to the many gripes I have come to have with a game I had much love for back in early-accessCipher wrote: β January 8th, 2024, 20:40orinEsque wrote: β January 8th, 2024, 20:31Only a mongo bot on Steam would say 30% share is not significant. On Steam the woke crowd reports if you point this out, claiming that Swen and his wife are still the owners of the company.
So big ol' Papa Swen opened his wooden chest full of gold coins to finance the 100 million budget for the game, nevermind all the advertisement it had.
30% is not insignificant. Tensent clearly had a say on how things went down.
I agree but don't let them know or they report you until you get a ban.
In their minds, this is an INDIE little studio with 450 employees and the backing of 30% of a Chinese gaming giant with a 100 million dollar budget for the game that they decided to blew on shoddy mocap and very good voice acting instead of writers and coders to code all the variance and half of Act 3.
But yeah, just a little Mom and Pop indie studio that just HAD to release the game in 2023 while being unpolished and unfinished just in time to get shilled as the GOTY everywhere on the internet.
Also, **** giggle physics. They invested time and man hours into implementing that. But breasts? Nah those are static like the fake breasts on a troony.
And people still defend this game is a once in a lifetime event that revolutionized the genre.

That's the thing. I don't care either way, but as always, for the feminist cult, its only the Male Gaze that needs to be purged. The Gay Male Gaze is not only OK, it needs to be promoted.
So, we must have penis jiggle physics, but breast jiggle physics are sexist, mysoginistic and demeaning to women.
at the same time i see why these kind of feminist wars are happening, because unlike the whole breasts agenda there were no male genitalia accented stuff in video games (but they made guys look like ******* meat blocks instead). i don't remember devs back then accenting on a guy's crotch with making it grotesquely big or adding physics like they did it with gals' tits all the time. I find both of these cases disgusting and also think those ******** revealing "armors" and outfits for both men and women should be purged from everywhereCipher wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 14:06That's the thing. Men don't wear clothing that accentuates their crotch or *** unless they are gay.
And breasts jiggle. Penis only jiggles if its not erect.
Breasts jiggle even with clothing. Penis will only visibly jiggle if a man is nude.
I am not saying I want coomer porn in games, but the fact is that women like to wear revealing clothing by their own choice, and even use underwear that enhances their assets, such as a push up bras. Men never really do that.
And breats are only comicly large in coomer porn cartoons. Yeah, DDs are not excedinly common but are not so rare as to never appear. And people rather look at beauty than not. That's why actors and models are pretty and fit.
Now, having all the females, even the old gals, have the same curvy figure with big breasts is either a limitation of the engine in older games or lazyness in modern games to just use one single body skeleton.
But given the choice, I'll rather have a woman's body be attractive and representative of an adult female, than a twiggy rail with no hips or breasts, like a girl.
If you glance over instagram you can see how gleefully and willingly women will expose their skin and use revealing clothing for internet likes. And how much more common is a curvy (NOT FAT) figure in an adult woman than not.
But yeah, I don't like "chainmail bikinis" and stuff like that. It doesn't make sense. But the female body preset in BG3 is too stiff and barely has any hips and breasts.
Also, notice despite medieval era, the "rich" female NPCs are showing off their legs. Mizora, Orin and those damned adventurers make sense, but regular people should be more covered up!CheesusCrust wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 13:21I hate physics added to genitalia and breasts altogether, cuz folks want to see it not because it "adds realism", we've all heard that child's bullcrap for excuse before many times. also "sKiMpY" "clothes". still looking for a mod changing Astarion's camp pants to actual pants, the ones they gave him are clearly some horny dev's cringe fantasyDagothGeas5 wrote: β January 8th, 2024, 22:58I don't pay attention to jiggle physics, but to me they add to the feeling of "grime and blood", particularly if it is a gloomy game about survival (I have not played too much of it yet, but an example would be Conan Exiles). Exactly. Dudes look fit and have appealing facial features. They are not, however, wearing clothing that accentuates their crotch.
And women wear clothing that accentuates their figure all the time. Just go to the gym. You would think they are desperate for men to hit on them by how they dress.
The leggings that are common to wear even for casual situations like going for groceries certainly accentuate their *** and hips.
And dresses, pencil skirts, push up bras, high heels. Hell, even make up. All of those are products exclusively made for women to look better and more appealing to the male gaze.
But, I agree with Orin's earlier post. Women in BG3 should be more covered up, as only harlots would dress like morern women in a medieval-esque setting.
However, my post was in response to your post talking about games having buff dudes but no croch accentuating clothing. And that's because men don't wear that. Only gay men do that.
Whereas most women will doll up for a man they find attractive or for internet clout. But feminist has sold them the lie that sexualizing themselves is empowering.
That's why even heterosexual women have complained about the current gamedev trend of making videogame women ugly, because they don't want to see themselves as ugly.
Only wokesters/feminist women want to project themselves as the hairy whales they are.
Most women want to present as beautiful and sexy and project themselves as beautiful and sexy in media.
Just look at the usualy trends. Harley Queen and Barbie? Women say "That's literally me". Lizzo? "She is so beautiful".
So, women will say an ugly landwhale like Lizzo is beautiful just to virtue signal, but they will project and identify themselves with actually pretty women like Margot Robbie as Harley Queen or Barbie.

It truly does add to the feeling of griminess and dread I look for in a story to me (like ending up missing limbs and having to find bio-mechanical replacements while treking the desert or something). I am aware that some use it as an excuse for whatever reasons, and I find it repulsive, especially because I often get this sort of "yeah sure!" thing thrown in my face because of those sorts of people, as if everyone was just as degenerate as them, and anything I say is "an excuse". As for Astarion, this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/ ... ?tab=files also mentions his pants have also been changed. I am unsure what has changed, or what is gay about them now (I am "unlearned" in such things, I think they look like cowboy pants to me from memory), but I keep having that "gut-reaction" that they are different from how they used to be, though I cannot pinpoint in what way/cannot remember. Do you happen to know how they used to be? From how the modder says things, it is as if they were removed from the game files, which I find strange if true.

I also wanted to ask, I have been trying my hand at modding this game too to learn, and was wondering how do you find the VisualResourceID for heads, colors, etc? This page here https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Modding:Head_Models#Elves/Drow lists the playable heads for example, but for something like Nere's hair (which I found in the end) unless I reverse-engineer from the character's appearance file, I have not seen a way to learn what is what from simple file browsing so far, is there something I am missing, or is it really such an arduous work as to painstakingly go looking for file names/numbers and pin-pointing them to the right source?

Astarion's camp pants outline his whole bakery, like he's wearing pants two sizes smaller, making his cutscenes seem and feel ridiculous (especially that back scars scene). and also those specific lines in the crotch area - what the **** were they thinking if they were thinking at all? yes, YES, he's got a ****, ******* HUUUUGE ONE, i get it, can we PLEASE not emphasize on it anymore?
the mod from the link uses those very cursed pants, the author merely changed its color and replaced the default shirt with Astarion's EA doublet

That's the thing. If the only choices in game are ugly models or pretty models, I'll rather have pretty ones.
You were the one saying only women got sexualized models and said that men didn't have crotch focusing clothing in game.
I pointed out why. Because men don't dress with clothing that accentuates the crotch. And also, because most gamers are male and most males are heterosexual.
So, if there is going to be titilation in games, it is always going to pander to the actual audience: Heterosexual men.
I don't need nor want penis jiggle physics or crotch accentuating pants.
I don't need but also don't mind breast jiggle physics and cleavage.
This game has the worst of both worlds. Penis jiggle physics but no breast jiggle physics. That was my what I pointed out originally when you said that "well yeah but men don't get crotch shots".
Of course they don't. The audience doesn't want that.
The difference is that pretty women with big tits exist. Those breasts jiggle. And pretty women like to look pretty with clothing that accentuates their form, like pencil skirts, cleavage, push up bras, high heels and even make up.
That's heterosexual women, by the way.
Heterosexual men do not dress in crotch accentuating pants. Either go for comfort most of the time and if we must dress up for an event, we use slacks, formal shirts and a suit with a tie.
Not sure what the point of your argument is. No one wants penis jiggle and crotch accentuate pants. Except maybe gay men.
Not everyone wants jiggling breasts and cleavage in games but at least that is more appealing to both men and women. Men because we like a pretty face with a curvy (NOT FAT) figure. And women because they also like to have a pretty face and a curvy figure and project themselves into a character that has those features.
You use the BG3 Multi Modders tool to look for what the VisualResourceID is. You unpack your game files, index them. Then you can search for the IDs. I didn't realize you meant the camp clothes! I have a half-mind to check them for myself, but I'd much rather take you on your word for this and be glad I never noticed that when I speak to him in camp. I am even sadder now, but it's good to know what to keep away from. (Wyll truly took me off-guard when I saw him in camp, this only adds to theCheesusCrust wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 18:01there wasn't camp clothes feature per se, they only added them in the final releaseDagothGeas5 wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 17:23As for Astarion, this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/ ...
Thank you! Will try this out once I will be able to! I might sound like a broken record, but truly, MANY thanks to sharing the work you and your team do with this! Cannot wait what you have in store to do with the "elf" (the drag queen, I truly thought he was a human too!) in the circus. Why do they go after elves so much?orinEsque wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 18:14You use the BG3 Multi Modders tool to look for what the VisualResourceID is. You unpack your game files, index them. Then you can search for the IDs. I use my own data mined table... but it's not comprehensive.DagothGeas5 wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 18:00The old ones too you mean? I truly do not recall how they looked, I only remember his shirt being different (hence how I found the mod I linked in my attempt to restore it, even if it's not how he looks in the loading screen art). Makes me sad to know they were if that is trueorinEsque wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 17:43
Nope those are still gay. I'll fix it. Ez job, but I will include it as an optional mod in case someone is using some Femstarion or something., there is much I am learning by browsing around here, it feels as if everything is made "with additional purpose" when those people make it, and I am bad enough at understanding innuendo, this is just on another level for me to comprehend without aid.

Because elves are traditionally beautiful, virtuous, and white.
I hate that I immediately understand what you mean. I hope this madness will end. It cannot die soon enough. Thank you for explaining!WhiteShark wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 18:35Because elves are traditionally beautiful, virtuous, and white.

i'm overthinking, but now it feels like that lobotomized male elf from the prologue was the first hint of what to expect... @orinEsque , how about changing the poor fella to a nigro instead?

I concur. His face is much closer to someone from Chult than any Baldurian or elf from what I recall (skin tone as well I think, but I don't recall him well enough to say)CheesusCrust wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 19:15i'm overthinking, but now it feels like that lobotomized male elf from the prologue was the first hint of what to expect... @orinEsque , how about changing the poor fella to a nigro instead?![]()

EDIT: I checked just to be sure, and here he is categorized as a human already, unless I am thinking of the wrong character? https://bg3.wiki/wiki/File:HUM_FS_NKD_H ... master.jpg
EDIT 2: he does seem to have pointy ears though from this angle, yet his face is listed in the human section (file name as well). Could it be it was altered later?

Er ... that's a bit much even for me. I vote for half-orc? But truly this stuff belongs with whoever is doing better baldurs aesthetics.CheesusCrust wrote: β January 9th, 2024, 19:15i'm overthinking, but now it feels like that lobotomized male elf from the prologue was the first hint of what to expect... @orinEsque , how about changing the poor fella to a nigro instead?![]()

@CheesusCrust
Is there any kind of pic comparison to what kind of pants Astarion used to have and why they are "gay" now?
Or if not, can you explain to me what's wrong with them? I mean yeah, they are tight and sexualize character, but that's about it.
Maybe I'm too groomed from media to see them "gay pants"
