I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Was about to buy the game after reading that Kotaku article, but then I saw the statement posted by the studio on twitter:

When will developers learn not to appease these people? None of those who are even remotely interested in this game care about such public assurances of being faithful to the woke religion. The best way to go about such controversies is to simply ignore them, now they've lost a buyer in me and I'm probably not the only one. They had such a great advertisement done by Kotaku and they blew it. Shameful to see.

Death penalty for pedophiles. A lifetime of forced labour for their enablers.
Rusty is a proud black Irish.

Huh, really gets the old noggin joggin'.A noggin jogger is slang for an activity or challenge that messes with the mind and is commonly used as a reference to complex puzzles or brain teasers.

While I thank God every day I have my father's blond hair rather than my mother's red hair, both are better than soulless black hair.

bad take and not even funny. Gayming has been normal male activity since the beginning of history.

Honestly, people need to learn to just do the Bender laugh at these people, then forget about them instantly as you turn away. It's accurate and effective.Consul wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 09:35The best way to go about such controversies is to simply ignore them

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Specifically video gaming. Simulating others doing things is pretty ****** by the very definition. If that time and effort was spent elsewhere it would be far better for the individual. Same with people who waste time with waifus or anime simulating relationships instead of actually working on themselves to maintain one.Emphyrio wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 15:32bad take and not even funny. I think board games and physical games are fine but there’s something inherently self destructive about video games.

Yup. I was mildly interested in RON because "muh SWAT 4 memories" but now I don't care, never playing RON and obviously never buying it. Thanks for proving my point. As long as you double down on your mistakes you will forever be miserable and alone, avoided like the plague by healthy people and incapable of any constructive relationship.CrazedGoblin wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 18:26There's no altar boys here Grandpa go molest kids elsewhere.Wretch wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 15:38Specifically video gaming. The fact that you think board games are okay but video games are not is weird. In video games you're not simply watching someone do something, you're actively engaging controls to do them with an avatar as if you were the character themselves. Your thoughts and actions dictate success against a challenge presented to you.Wretch wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 15:38Specifically video gaming. Physical real-world things are better, yes, but many of us do those things already and game when we are relaxing from the day. We are keeping the mind engaged. I also read a lot as well so I don't see the problem.
I basically see it like junk food or social media where a very light level of engagement isn’t particularly harmful if they’re otherwise healthy but most people don’t have the self control for that. It just seems pretty clear to me that video games desensitize people and burn them out the same way social media does.Breathe wrote: ↑ December 22nd, 2023, 19:36The fact that you think board games are okay but video games are not is weird. Young men now are being fed simulacrum for everything. Fake online communities, fake relationships, fake jobs and hobbies. Board games and tabletops are both inherently social and more productive and creative. Painting minis and building them or developing settings and level designs has more creativity and soul to it than anything in video games. I don’t say this to look down on them (I grew up this way) but it certainly harms them. The same way porn ruins people for real intimate relationships and social media ruins people’s ability to have meaningful friend groups so too do video games ruin man’s ability to create and affect the world around him.

Setting aside the rest of the argument, I've never understood this implication that a social activity is automatically superior to a solo one. Whether an activity is good or not depends primarily on content of the activity, not whether you do it with other people. Reading an edifying book is better than idle chatter. I'm sure we can both think of many social activities (parties, raves, sports games, etc.) to which playing a singleplayer game is superior.
I just personally find games to be harmful or at best frivolous for me when consumed alone but even the same single player game played with another person watching or myself watching them while chatting about it fixes that. As for parties or raves those are clearly harmful to the people who participate in them. Perhaps enjoying a game with friends is just better than alone, like sharing a meal with your good friend.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ December 24th, 2023, 04:05Setting aside the rest of the argument, I've never understood this implication that a social activity is automatically superior to a solo one. I think you may simply be expressing a preference in this case, not a moral truth. I much prefer to play singleplayer games alone and discuss them later because I want to be focused. Having a friend around would mean needing to choose between being socially engaging or boring my friend to tears while I devoted my attention to the game. I also find watching someone else playing a singleplayer game to be unbearably boring and an even greater waste of time than playing one myself.Wretch wrote: ↑ December 24th, 2023, 04:15I just personally find games to be harmful or at best frivolous for me when consumed alone but even the same single player game played with another person watching or myself watching them while chatting about it fixes that. Therefore, I submit that having a friend present or not does not change the moral quality of a singleplayer game, but that it would distract one who is very scrupulous concerning the usage of time from his belief that the game is a waste of time.
Preference and circumstance may play a part but video games have certainly been harmful to young men and have massively stunted them socially. It’s a very common theme for men now to not even date or have any form of social life and instead stay home to game. I don’t blame people for not wanting to participate in modern society but the degree most use it as escapism isn’t healthy either. The social aspect at least fixes that. It’s not a matter of scrupling or some perceived moral truth. Man is a social creature and the current state of hyper fragmented atomized society is extremely harmful to all of us. Finding some good people to share a hobby or even just some time with is a good start. It’s equally important to avoid people harmful and predatory.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ December 24th, 2023, 04:32I think you may simply be expressing a preference in this case, not a moral truth. The solution to all the covid neurosis and division present are for people to form strong bonds and loving communities.
