Yes, it does have multiple endings, but I'm pretty sure they're technically available even in the standard playthrough. Theoretically, you could beat Lavos in any of those spots. It's just that you don't have the character power to do it in a nermal game. The one exception I can't recall off the top of my head is the gate to Lavos that's available after the teleportation demo at the beginning of the game. I wouldn't count it as "unlocks" if it wasn't because most of the additional endings cannot be achieved without this.
Hence, NG+ in Chrono Trigger doesn't "unlock" additional endings (they're already there). It just makes it so you have the power to win the fights.
