Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era - official prequel

For discussing tactical and strategy games. What's the difference between tactics and strategy anyways?

Are you ******** or just want to act like a tough oldfag? Why would I "remember" this game when it's more alive than anyone else? Every day there are streams or some kind of tournaments. Mods are made (HoTa, WoG, VCMI). I've been in the Heroes 3 community for a while now. And I understand more about it than you ever will.
I liked this reply. And I think it's probably the only type of reply that will "save" you from Millennial faggotry. Although some Millennials should probably stop being *******, but anyway... I agree: it doesn't matter if you were there in 1999, if you love the game.

Make sure you introduce it to your kids. Shame if you didn't.

Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

Personally, I've never played the Might & Magic series, except Dark Messiah, which may not count. As a kid I loved HoMM 2 & 3. However, I've been burned on EA too many times, so unless they release map-making as part of EA, I won't buy it 'til 1.0. Creating intricate maps (and downloading other people's maps) was a big part of why I enjoyed it. All in all, I do hope this game gets a full release.

Positive review after positive review and I'm left wondering: do these people not have eyes? The art looks so bad, mobile slop and covered in gay unicorn cum. How can you enjoy the game mechanics when you're constantly distracted by ****** zoomer zingers in every paragraph?

It looks like a ****** phone game. My first reaction to this was to look for the button that opens up the premium currency store. Now compare this to either the sheer beauty of homm 3 or the charming simplicity of homm V and it doesn't hold a candle to either. It was even more jarring given that I was expecting the art to be at least decent, given that iratus had very good assets (basically its only quality).

I fully agree with @Eyestabber regarding it looking like mobile. It is just too eerie.
It is on sale right now, but I wouldn't buy it even for a tenner.

Funnily enough, if you go to their job section: https://unfrozen.studio/jobs/#jobs-list
You see "If you like making beautiful and challenging games, come join us"
Lol.

They gave me tremendous Pole vibes (Poles==crap), and guess what: https://unfrozen.studio/about/
"a team of 50 people and has representatives in Limassol, Cyprus; Tarragona, Spain; Belgrade, Serbia; Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Poznań and Prudnik, Poland and Iasi, Romania."

Total Pole Death. Put ACK in PolACK.

Unfrozen is a Russian company that moved to cyprus in 2021 to avoid sanctions related to the war. It's probably a pozzed transnational company by now.

Bro, this thing is sitting at 88% positive on Steam. So I can't even cope with "it's just paid shill influencers" anymore, the general consensus seems positive. Guess this is it, the sign that I'm getting too old for vidya gaymes.

People who thought it sucked refunded it or never purchased thanks to the demo (me). The only games which will have accurate bad reviews are ones designed to seem amazing for 2 hours to trap you, and then fall off. Steam also filters out reviews they see as ideologically charged from the overall stats afaik

It’s pretty hilarious how mithril from WoG (the Heroes 3 fan expansion) feels and plays out so much better than that ******* alchemical dust, which doesn't expand gameplay possibilities at all, but is just a pathetic burden forcing you to constantly drag yourself to the laboratory.

I do have some hope that Olden Era might be saved by global fan mods. But on the other hand, why would anyone even need them when we already have Heroes 3 with superb expansions like WoG or new towns from HotA? Just for the sake of ******, mobile-like graphics?
