How much does a seamless world matter to you?
It really depends on the game's intended structure. Some games benefit from it (Half-Life), but there is nothing wrong with contained levels (DOOM).
The three evils that humanity faces:
Censorship
Telemetry
DRM
Honestly with the advent of the seamless world structure I get more and more surprised if a game actually segments levels or sections via loading screens. Dead Island 2 is an example of every map being basically a contained 1x1 square kilometer zone separated by loading screens, I think they mostly did it for performance and technical reasons as the game doesn't really feature a 24 hour day/night cycle and has baked lighting.
