Should I bother changing Jeremy's design in Frickbear's 3?

Post by ImpCityAngel »

I am confused as to why the devs of Frickbear's 3 made Jeremy Fitzgerald look the way he does, despite the fact that is not what we all thought he would look like in FNAF lore. I decided to do a google search asking "why did frickbear's 3 make Jeremy Fitzgerald BLACK?!" and this is what Google told me:
Black.webp
"The decision to make Jeremy Fitzgerald Black in Five Nights at Frickbear's 3 was primarily a race lift to give the character a distinct physical identity, as the original Five Nights at Freddy's protagonist was a featureless, voiceless figure with an unknown race.
According to the TV Tropes analysis of the game's characters, this change served to visually distinguish the fangame's take on the character from the main canon, where he was originally undefined. This aligns with the game's broader design choice to give the four playable night guards (Jeremy, Mike, Vanessa, and Fritz) original designs that parallel the main four animatronics, with Jeremy specifically styled to resemble Withered Bonnie through his bandaged face and purple hair." I'm thinking of dropping the project altogether, so now I ask; Should I bother trying to alter his design, or is he fine as he is?

Anything that removes ******* from video games is a noble endeavor.

This guy always asks about games I've never heard of in my life. And from the looks of them, for good reason.

It has come to my attention that this design for Jeremy was present in a Roblox FNAF roleplay map released in 2016 called "The Pizzeria Roleplay: Remastered" While I always imagined him as a young white dude with blonde hair, I might just drop this and roll with the fact that we have a black Jeremy in this comical canon. Reason 1. Each vanilla character is supposed to resemble a withered animatronic, which sounds kinda cool. Reason 2. This design existed before Frickbear's 3, so I guess my perception of Jeremy is not as widely accepted as I thought. Reason 3. I can't seem to find the files Jeremy as easily as I would have liked to, which is a similar issue for all vanilla night guards. Sorry Tangerine, but I guess I have to let this one slide.
