I know nothing about Final Faggotry but the whole concept of doing a sequel posing as a remake with a time travel premise is really cool and based actually.

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire actually already somewhat did this in 2014. The game actually takes place in an alternate timeline after the events of the original Ruby and Sapphire games, with Looker and Anabel from the original timeline falling through a portal to this remake timeline. That's the explanation for why the ORAS setting is slightly different and why there is mega evolution here. The postgame plot is about how a meteor is projected to hit the Earth in the ORAS timeline so the Devon Corporation intends to open a portal to send it to another dimension, but Zinnia sabotages it because she believes it would send the meteor to the original timeline and destroy that earth. The problem is that it is poorly written and while the player knows this, Zinnia in the story has no real definitive way to justify her beliefs, namely because she doesn't meet Looker and Anabel.

FF7R does a better job having the characters in the universe being able to determine this since Sephiroth in FF7R is the Sephiroth from the original game and straight up tells Cloud how he has come back and is trying to defy fate.

This is beyond petty. Sayonara little girl.
You are the one name calling instead of admitting you were wrong. Go back to reddit.
Nice gaslighting. You came in with the hostile and irrelevant counterargument.

Also, stop interacting with me. You, Tangerine, the cyberpunk guy, the turtle guy.... They are more your speed. Seriously, do not respond. If you do, I will ignore it.

Wtff they removed the waking up with the trail of blood section???
Why? What did they replace it with?

Why can't they just do a ******* remaster and not a gay remake? The game was fine as it was, people just wanted new graphics.
It ain't FF7 anymore.
And then the "actual" remaster of the game with new graphics is a mobile gatcha slop game that, from what I understand, only takes the player through the major story beats. Many people said that if they had just remade the original with the graphics from that mobile game, it would have been a slam dunk.

This one clearly has the mobile game UI and such, but I think the overall graphics could have worked in a faithful remaster of the original.

Not a fan of the MASSIVE character pictures (too visual novel-ish) in the dialogues in comparison to the smaller portraits, but the rest looks great! Fits with the universe without the pixellation and blocky figures. And ahh it's nice to hear that soundtrack again.

That UI is soulless.

Use a charity watchdog, donate to your own church(es), or to people you can personally determine are in financial need. Do not give charity to non-whites unless prompted by the circumstances.

If you do not give to charity in the broader sense above, do not expect to make it financially.

why square why? Matt ******* Mercer as Vincent Valentine and you implemented a dress change type mechanic into the combat system like this is that ******* FFX-2? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! These games were and absolute detraction from the original to the point they aren't the same story at all. It is like you took all the angry redditors wishes and balled them up and regurgitated the worst parts of it back up for the new story. Then to start making it worse you took the dumbest parts of the FF franchise then add that. As well as I now have to listen to Mercer for the **** game if I want to play one of my favorite characters. This is terrible. **** this ****.

That's great to hear! The dress sphere change animations were cool. It is a shame that FF13 dropped the ball on the audiovisuals with Paradigm Shifting.

Party members having multiple different jobs like the FF14's Scions, very nice. Pick your favorite ideal version of that character.

Bruh they already have the weapon upgrade sphere non-sense for that. Don't need a fashion magazine dress show expo to. Give me ******* good story, which they kinda are failing at but i do want to be a little hopeful for a turn around.

My biggest desire is that they would have improved the aesthetics of the game, but alas. They really misunderstood why FF7 was so popular. It was because of the gorgeously painted dieselpunk dystopia in the first five hours of disc 1, with the shots of the green magitek mako reactors, the colorful cyberpunk slums, the plate, the huge industrial shinra tower, etc. When people talk about FF7, they're talking about Midgar. No one's favorite memory of FF7 is meandering around the boring mundane environments of the rest of the world. The remake series had was an opportunity to fix that and make the rest of the world outside of Midgar look more appealing.

Remake part 1 did not execute the visuals of Midgar very well and you wound up staring at tight, boring grey concrete box corridors for much of the duration. The levels looked marginally better in the Intergrade campaign but that was only a few hours long. Rebirth takes place in a forgettable, ugly generic open world. Boring plains, boring caves, boring deserts, etc, and it goes on for so long. And now they are going to spit out back out into that same ugly wasteland again for who knows how many more hours.

Maybe I'm biased because it's the first overworld I ever got to fully explore, but the world always felt huge and magical to me. I obviously love everything about Midgar but I always felt the actual game begins when you get let out into the world. I'll never forget the feeling of "wait...all that was ONE DOT on the map???"

The rest of what you said is true, but you're insulting one of the few good things of FFX-2.
