I mean usually clowns are 24/7 at the court, but it seems like you are the court clown since you are a ******* joke and you're not even here 24/7. Probably best to let someone else be the clown, and you **** off to the RPGcodex. Or better yet *************.

Little reddit boy found this place and feels safe now that he has a big group of people (typical female behaviour), and recklessly spends money like one too ******* lol imagine paying for this piece of **** "remake"
Lol so on top of the **** British English voice acting and immersion breaking aesthetic elements, they also ****** up basically majority of what makes the first game fun to play? It's worse than I even imaginedKonjad wrote: ↑ May 11th, 2026, 13:20Polish magazine already played the remake:
https://cdaction.pl/juz-gralismy/gralem ... rocz-mnie/
key points:
- Expanded locations feel natural
- The Colony still feels geographically recognizable and faithful to the original Gothic
- Most quests are almost identical to the original
- There are few meaningful reinterpretations or new solutions to old problems
- Polish dubbing has severe issues, it's incomplete and lip sync is poor
- Lighting, color grading, vegetation, and environmental effects often feel artificial or tonally wrong for Gothic’s harsh atmosphere
- Lockpicking minigames are frustrating and overly time-consuming
And what I consider the most important change:
- World simulation elements were cut out, for example:
NPCs barely react to crimes or suspicious behavior
You can steal from anywhere and nobody attacks you, but NPCs (all NPCs) will just mention that you should return the item
Animals do not attack NPCs or other animals, just the player
NPCs do not attack animals when i.e. they enter a camp
Daily routines are not properly scripted either, they depend on the player actions
You can sleep in any bed now, NPCs won't throw you out

It has been in development for longer than it took to make Gothic+Gothic 2+NOTR+Gothic 3. And nearly long enough to include Risen, too.
You seem upset, but I'm sure playing this slop will soothe your anger. Just make sure to play on "Novice" difficulty with "Close Combat Flow Helper"Finarfin wrote: ↑ May 12th, 2026, 12:15I mean usually clowns are 24/7 at the court, but it seems like you are the court clown since you are a ******* joke and you're not even here 24/7. Seeing how you don't see yourself as someone from this Forum, why don't you **** off then? No one cares about you here, you are a waste of space. Hell, in real life people would probably won't even miss your *** if you die, so just pull the trigger now and free up space.

It is not out yet though. Still more than a month away, I do wonder if the remake release will make people flock towards to the originals and then mod even more (minus AI voice-acting)asf wrote: ↑ May 12th, 2026, 19:01now that the remake is out, i will just play the original again, no faggotry included

******, I do not give **** about you oldfags, you guys literally have sub 200 post counts, you are only oldfags by technicality because you registered in '23, but in reality you are newfags. You do nothing here besides lurk. No threads made, no reviews, no lengthy discussions contributed, you could cease to exist and stop posting and no one would ask "where is this poster?" You are nothing and nothing shall you be in perpetuity.BosanskiSeljak wrote: ↑ May 12th, 2026, 17:07respect your elders, newfag, you're trying way too hard to fit in reddit boy))Finarfin wrote: ↑ May 12th, 2026, 16:47>little reddit boyBosanskiSeljak wrote: ↑ May 12th, 2026, 12:48Little reddit boy found this place and feels safe now that he has a big group of people (typical female behaviour), and recklessly spends money like one too ******* lol imagine paying for this piece of **** "remake"

I can see your colorful short reviews don't worry, no need to cry, we can all see you're a big boy. Why don't we pin them on the fridge? Would that make you feel better?

as expected has all the typical UE5 traversal and shader cache stutter.
small mercy at least is that the viewport itself doesn't stutter. that's something at least.
also, you can use 1/2 sync if you want with nvidia profile inspector. disables GSYNC but if you can comfortably maintain 60fps and are running 120hz then you can use 1/2 sync to get a smooth 60 lock. VRR/Gsync does absolutely nothing for Unreal Engine stutters so it doesn't matter much.

this is niche use-case scenario but it's something i do and it might help others.
there is a program called DisplayChanger2 (it's been 'abandoned' by the developer so he can sell you his new version DCX for 40 bucks, but you can still find the old free DC2), and you can use a command of
1. switch to 60hz resolution
2. dc2.exe -create="1440p60hz.xml" (be sure to place dc2.exe in the game's root folder or wherever it has its executable that you will be using)
3. switch back to your default refresh rate of 120 or 144 or whatever it is
4. dc2.exe -create="1440p120hz.xml"
Now in the game folder you can create a batch file or a command file that goes:
START dc2.exe -configure="1440p60hz.xml"
START /WAIT gothic.exe
START dc2.exe -configure="1440p120hz.xml"
EXIT
This can run into all sorts of problems depending on whether the game is using a launcher or whatnot. In this case since I am using a pirated copy of the game it launches directly from its executable with nothing else interfering, so once again pirates have a better quality of life experience.
additionally some games will do weird things and force your highest refresh rate AFTER the game executable launches, which will throw off dc2 and make this not work.
Why do this at all? if you're an autist about having the SMOOTHEST frame rate lock, like me, then one thing to keep in mind is that the smoothest camera rotation is achieved by having your frame rate AS CLOSE TO YOUR REFRESH RATE as possible, with 1:1 being the obvious best-case scenario. Even with VRR, if you lock to 60 while at 120hz you will NOT have the smoothest possible camera rotation, it will still have micro-hitches only noticeable by someone with no life who looks for stuff like this to complain about. So 60fps at 60hz (with VRR still active! this does not disable VRR since all you're doing is switching resolution-Hz) will be smoother for camera rotation than 60fps at 120hz. This allows you to keep VRR enabled, whereas using nvidia 1/2 sync will disable VRR.
this is incredibly niche but can be surprisingly helpful.
Right now, for Gothic 1 Remake, I settled on 80fps/80hz, using frame gen (without frame gen hovers between 65-80 ish). So when i launch the executable the desktop switches to 1440p 80hz, VRR ENABLED, then when the game is quit it switches to 120hz.
