In the event of a tie, I will be using the new tie break rule rusty proposed last month. For the tied nominations, an additional vote will be added to the tally for each AG badge the voters of that nomination have earned.

This is a pretty good roster (aside from 2 games) this time. I'm not sure which to vote for because all of them are cool.

ELEX and Tainted Grail.
I've heard that ELEX is peak eurojank which does not necessarily a good game make. And my experience with Tainted Grail lead me to believe that it's just Oblivion.
I have played all the other games and have enjoyed them quite a bit and not in the "this is mostly **** but there are some nuggets of gold here" kinda way.

Elex is pretty good. I'd say it's PB's best game because Gothic 2's last half feels very rushed. Elex is the only game they've made that felt relatively finished.

Dark Messiah is not a bad game, but it's barely even an RPG, ffs Far Cry 3 is arguably more of an RPG than this.

I'd be okay with Dark Messiah winning, I've heard it's got one of the best first-person combat systems out there, so that should be interesting

Fall of Avalon still has expansions on the pipeline so I'd rather wait until it's a finished game before playing it

Dark Messiah uses Source engine so it heavily utilizes the ability to use environment to cause damage like in Half-Life 2. The main character is actually somewhat weak in direct combat so the environment manipulation is the main source of damage. It also has a neat ability to create ropes to climb like in Thief. It's a pretty fun game though I personally wouldn't call it an RPG, there are just some elements.

Sounds good. I've got a copy of The Witcher collecting dust... gives me reason to finally check it out. :pipe-hat:

If anyone's interested in picking it up, the game is on sale for pretty cheap on GOG for the next 19 hours:

Someone was working on modding the console exclusive expansion into the PC version of Dank Messiah, but I don't know if they got it done yet.

Serious question. Is your definition of RPG "bad controls"? Or maybe "****** AD&D adaptation"? If you objectively apply your definition to JAG history, how many games fail that test?

Dark Messiah has attributes, experience points, talent trees, damage types, consumables, magic items, spells, equipment tiers, dungeons, fighter/mage/rogue archetype, and secret rooms.

Vote Witcher 1 so it'll be tied and we use the new tiebreak system :pipe-thinking:

If we do get to play Witcher 1, everybody needs to make sure to play the game with the Polish VO.

But if it is Witcher 1, I will play it in German.

I'm sorry but Far Cry 3 also has:
-EXP points
-talent trees
-equipment tiers and progression
-different damage types (bullet, fire, explosive)
-consumables
-dungeons
-different character archtypes (rambo, sniper and stealth knife killer)
-and most importantly, different characters builds according to your playstyle
-plus, it's also a confirmed racist game according to game journalists

I really like the voice actor he has for 2 and 3, however the one from the first game I find to be literally perfect. I was very sad when he was changed. If I remember correctly, CDPR got a new studio to do the german voice over.

Thankfully Geralt has great voice actors in the German version, but yeah, I prefer the first one. English Geralt is awful; his Batman-with-throat-cancer voice sucks ***, which is a shame because Yennefer's English voice is quite lovely. But I'd rather not replay W3 in English. I'll play Witcher 3 again soon because of the new expansion. I wish I could change my vote, tbh...

Ok so I can't choose between three. So I am going to have to see some arguments for them from you guys/girls/battle helicopters/turtles.
I haven't played any of the three.

Elex - I think it was referred to as "eurojank", don't know about that, but I remember playing Gothic a long time ago and thinking it was a much better game than what people had said about it and would like to give this a go due to that.

Dark Messiah - Looks like a more RPG mechanics heavy version of a Dark Alliance Style game and combat looks like a funny version of kick the can from the video that was posted.

Temple of Elemental Evil - Frankly this is just me wanting to play a bit more modern version of Pools of Radiance style of game cause I loved that game and this feels like a successor to that style of game.

Dunno could be wrong with my interpretations of these games or seeing things that I want to see vs don't or just straight missed the plot. Tried not to watch to many videos or read to many things about them so they can be a fresh adventure for me versus finding out more about them and half the adventure is known to me going in.
