I thought that was interesting because the whole reason why he's someone is because kids played his games. I don't know...
EDIT: on the other hand he did mention he plays games with his wife and that he loves her and the way that she thinks, so I don't know.
Personally, I'm not trying too hard anymore.

Today’s guest is Chris Avellone — one of the most influential writers in RPG history, known for his work on classics like Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment, Fallout: New Vegas, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
Across all of those games, Avellone became known for creating morally complex worlds and characters that pushed RPG storytelling far beyond simple good-versus-evil narratives.

Can anybody refresh me on him? He’s a great writer from what I remember—KOTOR 2 being my favorite—but is he actually still good, or has he become a **** of the system
He's always been a wimp. There haven't been too many recent examples of his writing, but his quality has overall remained high enough. The last actual writing he did was for Weird West, though it's vague what he actually contributed (I believe he wrote the tree in the Pigman route, it feels like his voice, but I can't be 100% certain).Spacekiddo wrote: ↑ May 23rd, 2026, 14:36Can anybody refresh me on him? Before that, some stuff for Wasteland 3 (Aspen and some preliminary work on Steeltown and Mt Cheyenne that got scrapped and then re-purposed into some crappy DLCs) and Jedi Fallen Order (never played, don't care enough to look up which individual characters he wrote, but I know they were side characters).

Fan-made #Fallout movie, zero budget, labor of love. : )
Love to see games inspiring creative efforts like this, the passion and sincerity comes through.
