Menace - without the randomness of BB

Menace is an okayish game, not as good as BB.
More structured and no level ups, less randomness.
It's not really a rpg, more a tactical game,

What's your opinion about it?

I tried Legends with BB but it's too fiddly with all the extra systems. I've heard Reforged is pretty good, but it has 10 other mods as requirements, which seems like asking for problems. Has anyone tried it?
