tldr; CEMU Wii U emulator for Linux was compromised with malware
► Show Spoiler
Special note for Israeli users:
If the malware determines that your location is Israel (it does this via locale and timezone checks) then it has a 1:6 chance that it will play a loud siren sound and run rm -rf /, essentially attempting to wipe your filesystem. This is bad, but since rm does not actively overwrite the file data, you should be able to recover your data with some effort. But this is only true as long as you don't write new data to the affected drive(s).
Do not reinstall your OS to the same drive or format it until you have attempted a file recovery first.

After 11 years, Tormentum II is finally coming out, this July 23th.
(Though I always believed it will release since I have the devs on my friendlist and see them play it)

Has anyone played Sifu? I found it in my search for good fighting games. But early on it is just button bashing. Hoping it gets better.

It does get more complex later on. I haven't played it in a long while, though.anvi wrote: ↑ May 14th, 2026, 04:17Has anyone played Sifu? I found it in my search for good fighting games. But early on it is just button bashing. Hoping it gets better.
I didn't like that there are women enemies. Aside from the fact that women can't physically hit as hard as men, I just felt bad beating them up.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
It doesn't. It just gets more difficult and complex, like @logincrash said, but not more enjoyable. Overrated ****.
The art style should have clued me in.

It's disappointing that every multiplayer game released in the last 20 years lacks basic LAN-TCP/IP support. That was how every online multiplayer game used to work, and that's why many of them are still playable to this day. Quake, Halo CE, etc. The "LAN-TCP/IP" approach does not require servers to be run, instead players can connect with each other peer-to-peer. It's not a perfect system, but it would keep these games going long after official support ends. This is how they can "stop killing games".
Nothing wrong with visual novels/walking simulators, they are good slop to consume between breaks from real games.
Edit: Not Mixtape though. I gave it a chance but just couldn't do it. Repulsive character design and cringe dialogues/scenes were too much.

The trailer for House of Necrosis looks pretty good:
I've been trying to keep myself mostly in the dark to avoid spoilers, but from what little I've read about this roguelike, the game doesn't appear to have you too badly at the mercy of random range. Definitely looks like it is borrowing some of its style from Resident Evil, even has the classic door opening effect.
Interestingly although the perspective is mostly top down, you do appear to have the ability to switch to a first person view to get a better look into the distance...
The whole thing looks neat, if it shows up on GOG I'll probably snag it.

I don't know why it just came to mind many years after having last played it, but I thought that Red Orchestra 2 was a mixed bag. On the one hand, it was extremely immersive with how you had to remember how many bullets were in your cartridge. You get hit by one bullet in the leg and you fall over and you are slowly bleeding out to death. You are climbing up the stairs while the guy next to you is bleeding out, and you are hearing voice acting of this guy dying in agony for a minute calling out for his father. Very immersive. On the other hand, as a FPS videogame (to be played indefinitely? Dozens of hours at least?) I am not sure if this was wise, since after a few hours of playing it I didn't want to be in that dreary sad world anymore. I do recommend that people visit it for at least a couple hours just to get the feel for it. It is quite something.

I hate them in real life.
Billy Lush is an awesome voice actor, and it's a shame that he wasn't cast for Dishonored 2 or DotO.
Is it possible to learn these moves?

How do we stop this? Can't believe how many times I got baited into watching a Wikipedia plot summary video.

Car companies don't want their cars involved in anything that's "criminal" these days and they especially don't want their cars to blow up. I think Driver: San Francisco was the last game where major car manufacturers agreed to have their cars in a game where you can commit crimes. But they had to make a special fake car that was designed to be blown up for cutscenes.

VAE VICTIS
The new Tokyo Xtreme Racing features illegal racing just like the dreamcast and ps2 games did and it has licensed cars (which btw the old ones didn't have, sorta) it's nothing of these days, it's happened since forever and it's a very special thing when they let it pass (like with this).traxtan wrote: ↑ May 18th, 2026, 21:43Car companies don't want their cars involved in anything that's "criminal" these days and they especially don't want their cars to blow up. But Horizon has always been about a festival, been like that since the 360. I don't think the mindset is the current problem with racing games, more like the lack of content lol.
I played GT7, good driving (tuning is pretty good) and decent new content every month (at least back when I was online) but fr **** has no worthwhile races.
