This is a demo of the unreleased 1995 RPG Tears by the developer Visiongame

TRANSLATION:
Tears is a Czech RPG adventure presented in 3D isometric view, set in a medieval fantasy world by Karel Papík. The game is based on a realistically functioning world in which every character has their own daily routine. For example, a farmer would get up in the morning, go plow the field, pop into the tavern at noon for a meal, and sleep at night. Your task is to carry out a political coup in your kingdom and seize power for yourself. The game promises highly intelligent characters and a vast number of different items and weapons.

Story

The main character, Ratingen, is one of the members of the Great Council, which governs the Kingdom of Thrál. However, disagreements within the council are becoming increasingly frequent. Zigid and Arkadas, other members of the council, are popular with the people, but they are not particularly capable rulers. After some time, Ratingen therefore decides that it is necessary to take power over Thrál into his own hands.

The political situation in the surrounding lands clearly suggests that it is only a matter of time before some of the neighbors join forces with the aim of subjugating the kingdom. Ratingen still wants to preserve the principles of democracy in the country, but he wants to favor a more centralized form of rule; the country is not yet ready for democracy as Zigid and Arkadas envision it.

What is needed now is to build a state that is economically prosperous, militarily strong, and free from internal strife. Thrál is a relatively small country, and therefore, in Ratingen’s opinion, it can quite easily be governed from a single center. There is no need to fragment the entire country into individual marches, among which rivalry prevails…

Tears je česká RPG adventura provedená v 3D izometrickém zobrazení v prostředí středověkého fantasy od Karla Papíka. Hra založena na reálně fungujícím světě, kdy má každá postava svůj denní režim. Například zemědělec ráno vstal, šel orat pole, v poledne si odskočil do hospody na jídlo a v noci spal. Vaším úkolem je provést politický převrat ve svém království a získat pro sebe moc. Hra slibuje vysokou inteligenci postav a obrovské množství různých předmětů a zbraní.

Příběh hry: Hlavní postava Ratingen je jedním z členů Velké rady, která spravuje Thrálské království. Ovšem v radě dochází čím dál častěji k rozporům. Zigid a Arkadas, další členové rady, jsou sice lidem oblíbení, ale jako vládcové nejsou příliš schopní. Ratingen se proto po nějakém čase rozhodne, že je zapotřebí převzít moc nad Thrálskem do vlastních rukou. Politická situace v okolních zemích totiž jasně napovídá, že je jen otázkou času, kdy se někteří ze sousedů spojí s cílem podrobit si království. Ratingen chce i nadále v zemi zachovávat principy demokracie, avšak chce dát přednost vládě více centralizované; pro demokracii, jak si ji představuje Zigid a Arkadas, země ještě nedozrála. Nyní je třeba vybudovat stát hospodářsky dobře prosperující, vojensky silný a nezmítaný žádnými vnitřními rozbroji. Thrálsko je země poměrně malá, a proto může být, dle Ratingenova mínění, docela dobře řízena z jednoho centra, není zapotřebí celou zemi drobit na jednotlivé marky, mezi nimiž vládne rivalita…
