That could just be a way of speaking it being a boy into existence (i attempted it, didn't work)

The people doing this can't see a problem with it because their takeaway from reading a statement is not a set of facts or information, but a feeling. That's why it is so important for them to know what side people are on before they engage the facts of a situation.
