Why do WRPG players dislike seeing the other party members get together?

No RPG elements? It probably goes here!

Kill asari. Behead asari. Roundhouse kick an asari into the concrete. Slam dunk an asari baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy asari. Defecate in an asari's food. Launch asari into the sun. Stir fry asari in a wok. Toss asari into active volcanoes. Urinate into an asari's gas tank. Judo throw asari into a wood chipper. Twist asari's heads off. Report asari to the IRS. Karate chop asari in half. Curb stomp pregnant blue asari. Trap asari in quicksand. Crush asari in the trash compactor. Liquefy asari in a vat of acid. Eat asari. Dissect asari. Exterminate asari in the gas chamber. Stomp asari skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate asari in the oven. Lobotomize asari. Mandatory abortions for asari. Grind asari fetuses in the garbage disposal. Drown asari in fried chicken grease. Vaporize asari with a ray gun. Kick old asari down the stairs. Feed asari to alligators. Slice asar with a katana.

One of the many things that has baffled me about the WRPG fandom is their seeming dislike of other party members getting into romantic relationships with each other, outside of the protagonist. Why is that? But whining about this in the JRPG community would be insane. People love seeing the other Fire Emblem characters get together, Steiner and Beatrix from FF9, love Olivier and Schera in Trails, Wakka and Lulu from FF10, etc. What's the difference?
If we ignore the ***** with a female mentality like @Tangerine here, the answer is simple. Men love being the center of attention and enjoying their own agency and immersion in the story. Shipping, watching someone else’s romantic story from the sidelines, especially in an RPG where immersion is vital, is for women looking for a "safe sexuality" detached from actual involvement, and for ***** like @Tangerine .

When I play an RPG, everything should revolve around me and my choices, not some soyboy writer who engages in shipping just to stroke his own ego and cater to the Tumblr crowd, which is essentially robbing players of content and the ability to roleplay specific scenarios.

Almost no male players like it when other party members get into romantic relationships with each other, outside of the protagonist. The examples you brought up with Fire Emblem series don't count because in those games, everything is subservient to the player; they can choose to do it or not. Plus, in Fire Emblem, the RPG immersion isn't that high. It feels more like a "Eugenics simulator" rather than like BG3, for instance, where Shadowheart flirts with Halsin whether the player likes it or not. It’s especially jarring when a character who hooks up with someone else is also a potential love interest for the protagonist. That’s when this whole trend of "inclusivity" and "muhh character autonomy" becomes repulsive to a male player who is being stripped of his subjectivity, especially if he likes the character and wants to play out his own romance scenario.

If a character never shows interest in the protagonist to begin with and is clearly written for a companion from the start, that’s a completely different story; that’s fine. The example of Chidori and Junpei from Persona 3 fits perfectly here. It’s a harmonious and interesting relationship between NPCs that’s actually engaging to watch, specifically because you don’t feel like you or any other player were robbed of content or agency.

This is the actual female (narcissistic) mentality. A man is part of a community.

Didn't asked your **** opinion about what men like or don't like. You do not belong to men nor decent human, no matter what profile pic you put on. You are ******. Go back to your **** chair.

And you are ****** too. "Being part of a community" has nothing to do with drooling from the sidelines and being a third wheel in fictional romantic relationships. It feels like you and @Сuckarion graduated from the same school for *******.
