I've only done M+ in DF S2/S3 but I always thought it was **** that there was no reward between KSM and the .1% title, cool that there is one for 3k now. I had 6 toons between 2.9k and 3.2k in DF S2, a mount would've been appreciated for all the no lifing I did

I did the 100,000 timeless isle coin farm to get the Heavenly Golden Cloud Serpent mount. It was my main flying mount until the dragonflight dragons came out.


I did RBGs and arenas to get the Vicious saddle mounts (the armored ones with the flag) for RP or macroed to use whenever I am in a no-flying area.






When Dragonflight came out, I farmed Dragonriding customizations to make my Proto-Drake look red, armored, and threatening. It was the only dragonriding mount that looked big enough to support my Tauren. The others made it look like I was breaking the back of a poor pony. It became my new flying mount for my main.




I did M+ during Dragonflight to get those Armordeon mounts. They were big and looked cool.




Before TWW launched, I farmed anima from Zereth Mortis rares to build the Kyrian coliseum so I could get the two-headed dragon (Gruesome Flayedwing) mount for my Panda DK to ride on. It was not my first choice. I had my alts parked in front of Rei Lun to camp him for the 1% droprate Rajani Warserpent, but after several dozen kills I never got it and it was a waste of time.




The Gruesome Flayedwing's body was too small, and it looked comical seeing my DK crushing its back. When Midnight launched, I farmed Dawn of the Infinite to get dragonriding customizations for the Highland Drake for my new DK main to use for flying.




I have been farming the Zul'aman rares to get the Witherbark Pango to replace it as my preferred ground mount for my DK. It has blue armor but it is bigger and looks like it can support a big heavy panda knight. I like my Blue Shado-Pan Tiger which has better matching armor and looks ferocious, but it is a little too small for my Panda. He looks like he is going to break its back.

Yes it is over half done. For the past 6 years, the formula has been that a WoW expansion only has four zones at launch, and then gets up to two more in the patches. So the trilogy will have 18 zones max. We are 10/18 zones through. Also, Midnight's story was structured after an FF14 expansion in that you get a complete beginning, middle, and end at launch. People are wondering if The Last Titan will be similar to Endwalker and if the story will conclude at launch. So there might only be 6 more zones left total (2 Midnight patch zones and then the 4 TLT launch zones).

The plot is pretty much the same as its been ever since Xal'atath was reintroduced as the big bad at the end of Dragonflight. Ancient being got released from a dagger and is running amok. TWW was about Xal'atath attacking a city amass power and heading down towards the center of the earth. Midnight has ended with... Xal'atath attacking a city to amass power and heading down towards the center of the earth. So the trilogy plot hasn't actually advanced really. We still don't know what Xal'atath's deal is.

Intro questline: Basically you and a few dozen other paladins and priests got teleported to the Isle of Quel'danas as it was under attack by Xal'ataths army of blueberries. The paladins manage to direct their powers into the Sunwell and cause a laser to shoot up into the sky holding off the Voidstorm overhead. You, Turalyon, and Arator head into town to set up HQ.

First zone is Eversong Woods where Turalyon and Lor'themar gives you and Arator a teleconferencing crystal and go out and assess what is happening in the region. Nothing much actually happens here, it's just set up for the other chapters. At the end, the Amani trolls are invading to chop down trees for their light magick infused wood. Arator leaps in front of their leader right as Turalyon is about to kill him and gets hurt, and the narrative tries to make Turalyon out to be the bad guy.

Second zone has you and Liadrin head into Zul'aman. It is overall a filler chapter that has nothing to do with the rest of the story. It is a speedrun of the FFXIV Dawntrail plot where you escort the Promise Hashey of the meso-american nation, Wuk Lamat Zul'jarra, on her pilgrimage to complete eight four trials and become the new head honcho. Complete with the exact same writing of the heroine being affirmed as a good and worthy ruler by every person she meets without actually doing anything, and the party members (in this case, Liadrin) being syncophants. Zul'jarra's brother Zoraal Ja Zul'jan is the strawman guy who makes all of the wrong choices such as... leading the army against the enemy in Zul'jarra's absence, and gets told off for doing it. And then Zul'jarra comes back and leads the army against the bad guys and gets praised as a hero. At least Zul'jarra isn't voiced by a ******.

Third zone is Harandar aka the Rootlands map that was in the TWW alpha, but got pushed back to Midnight when Metzen joined and stretched out TWW into a trilogy. It actually has a huge plot reveal that would have been a big way to close out the underground expac: it is where the Azeroth Worldsoul naturally resided, but the worldsoul vanished a long time ago and nobody knows where she went (almost certainly taken by Aman'thul to the Worldcore built by the Titans). But in Midnight, it is treated as an aside. There are obvious issues. It is clear that the Black Blood introduced in Azj-Kahet were supposed to be the enemy here, but they were replaced by Lightbloom (light infused plant zombies). Gazlowe is down here inexplicably, which would make sense if this was supposed to be the last TWW zone. Fishing here gives you TWW items and reps. Etc. Also, it was ripped out of the Khaz Algar continent instant map from the TWW alpha and is now located in an isolated instance that you have to click on a portal and go through a loading screen to access, so no cool flying down the Elun'hair roots seen in Khaz Algar. Etc. Major victim of the trilogy pivot.

Plot wise, you just follow Orenwya around and fight Lightbloom. You meet the elders, and apparently they don't like Orenwya because she is a rebel. We get the usual progressivist spiel about "tradition bad, new ideas good". At one point, there is a hilarious segment where Orenwya stops and begins to feel bad about... defending her people from the lightbloom monsters, as if it is weighing on her conscience or that her people don't deserve to be saved. And she has to get a therapy pep talk. self-denunciation is a virtue to these secular writers.

We go back to the surface, and begin the Arator's Journey chapter. Basically Arator - despite being a 40 year old man and a paladin who fought in TBC and in Legion - doesn't know Light 101 and has to trot across the globe and get pep talks from these other priests and paladins about the Light. Ofcourse it's written by secular writers so it's offensively bad. We get ahiestic paladins who are dedicated to their principles". ??? Why would you ever die for your principles? Would those principles leave something behind for your family? A Christian believes in God and will die for his God, knowing he will be rewarded in Heaven. Also, Alonsus Faol disses on Uther/Tirion/etc for wielding the sword (against alien invaders), and says that Dezco doing charity work like hammering fences for orc colonists (on human lands) is good and is what paladins are supposed to do. Turalyon is made out to have had a moral downfall when he became angry seeing Blackhand strike down Lothar in WC2.




4th zone: the Voidstorm. The paladins on Quel'danas are losing strength as they tirelessly channel their power into the Sunwell to keep the Voidstorm at bay. It is decided that the coalition should go for the throat and try to kill Xal'atath and/or destroy the Voidstorm. The void elves open a portal to the Voidstorm. You, Arator, and Lothroaxion (as High Exarch Turalyon's lieutenant and representative) go to the Voidstorm and link up with Alleria. Alleria hasn't found out that much, so you capture a native of the Voidstorm and put elemental binding shackles on him. His name is Decimus and he offers to help you. Throughout the chapter, Lothroaxion is constantly warning against trusting Decimus and wielding the power of the void and is butting heads with Alleria, but is framed as being as a bigot and muh middle ages evil crusader zealot. Sure enough, Decimus eventually reveals that he was never actually restrained by the bindings and was just playing dumb the whole time. After a lot of fruitlessly wandering around, Lothroaxion decides to just go ahead and blow up the Voidspire, but then suddenly Alleria declares that doing so would kill everyone in Silvermoon (geez, would have been nice if you had told us our mission was pointless as soon as we got here woman!). So we go do the final dungeon and kill Lothroaxion.

Level cap questline: Turalyon arrives in the Voidstorm with Army of the Light Draenei. Arator complains to mom that dad hit him. Mom gets mad at dad and tells him that his faith in the Light is turning him bad. We do the raid. We kill King Sal'hadaar (for real, apparently). Three random NPC paladins suddenly become "Lightblinded" and try to kill us. We kill them. Xal'atath kidnaps Alleria and infuses her with the Void, corrupting her and making her into a boss. We beat Alleria. Xal'atath shanks Alleria and steals her void Naaru, L'ura, and uses him to overload the Voidspire, destroying it and overwhelming the Sunwell, corrupting it and turning it into the Darkwell. Turalyon and Alleria are lost in the current.






We return to Silvermoon. Arator says we should go to the other elves for help, so we do that. We go to Bel'ameth, where Shandris says she will only help if the blood elves let go of their magic well. With the elf army, we march across the bridge to Quel'danas. We go into the raid and kill L'ura. Xal'atath goes down the Darkwell towards the center of the earth before the Darkwell dries up. The elves - including Shandris - toss magical relices into the well to reignite it as the Dawnwell, made up of all kinds of magicks rather than just Light, because apparently too much of one thing is bad. The Silver Covenant are disbanded and fold into Silvermoon. The end.

Patch 12.05

The first new feature is that you can now finally use Decimus' Voidforge that you have been building up over the last few weekly quests. It allows you to kill a boss and then spend a voidcore to get a random item on that boss' loot table, and take it off of the loot table so you won't get it again. M+ bosses only have 2 or 3 pieces of gear on their loot table per spec, so if there is a specific trinket you want, you can use this method to cycle through their loot table a couple times and get the thing you want. The Voidforge will also allow you to uncap/raise the ilevel cap of any max upgraded item you have. Obviously you're gonna use this for your Great Vault myth weapon.

Ritual Sites have been added, which are just delves but set in an instanced version of the open world. Scales from 1 to 5 players but you don't get a NPC party member like Brann or Valeera to help you. Like with delves, you can pick difficulty tiers, up to tier 5 (instead of 11). There are affixes like in M+ that you can toggle on that will also add more loot to the end. Each player death reduces the loot you get by 5%, up to 50% less loot. It's okay but nothing to write home about. Problem is that it gives up to hero gear, but I am already decked out in hero gear. I need myth gear, so there is no reason for me to further engage with this.

Void assaults have been added, which are yet more botched imitations of GW2 events where you fly around mashing buttons to kill mobs nonstop for 10 to 15 minutes without a break, only to get... champion or hero gear. No thanks. It also makes no sense to still be fighting Ethereals and cultists in Zul'aman after having beaten the story and having saved the region from the Void. Same issue with the Hallowfall assault with Nerubians attacking... which was patched in after you had cleared Azj-Kahet, killed Ansurek, installed the Vizier/Weaver/General as the new government, etc.

The new Decor Duels game mode is pretty fun. One team of players can transform into decor and tries to find hiding spots or looks inconspicuous, and then the other team tries to find and tag them.

Any old account that has amassed a lot of completions and stuff over the years is going to be pretty attractive. WoW kinda sucks as a new account because you might see or envision a dream outfit + mount combo, but then that would require a huge amount of time investment going through several different expansions and completing long questlines, doing rep grinds over the course of weeks, etc. Most housing decors added have been locked behind a lot of this old completions too and it seems that will continue for further decors added in the future. Like getting green curved drapes requires having going through the entire Kul'tiras levelling questline and level cap campaign, which is a lot of time spent.

It also sucks to browse r/transmogrification, and then see that an outfit contains pieces that are no longer available (usually rated PvP sets and PvP enchant illusions).
