(I'll post this in this thread again as I think it fits better than the one I previously posted it in)

If anyone wants to play a nice little strategy/tactics game set in Warhammer Fantasy (the old, good one) made by a Hungarian studio I highly recommend getting this, the game that got me instantly hooked for Warhammer Fantasy when I was a kid:

It was just released as part of a rerelease of many classic Warhammer games on Steam.
One of the best and most faithful WHFB games out there still to this day.

The character leveling and building, together with their abilities and the mechanics of the battles are great, with a huge difference between using good tactics and just brunt forcing your way.
The game still holds up wonderfully visually, graphic-swise and with it's beautiful art style.
The sound is another thing that still is great paired with one of the best Warhammer soundtracks (by Jeremy Soule) to date, creating still the most immersive and fitting atmosphere I ever experienced in a WH game.
Add to that the surprisingly good characters and story for what they are and this game is really greater than the sum of its parts.
And while there are 3 campaings to play, the only critique I have is that there is not enough of it. Though I'd say the biggest complaint being wanting more of it is one thing any came can be happy to have. The good thing about this of course is that you can finish the whole game in about 3 days probably, I you only play it in that time and it won't take you forever to finish it.

Again, highly recommended if you're interested and can spare about 10 bucks :knight:

Shame it was developed for xbox, it could have been a bigger game on pc.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Good that in the end it turned out to still be a great game, then :toot:

I doubt about that. It's a Ukrainian game written by a Jew, the nazis are going to be an allusion to Putin and Russia.

4A and Glukhovski already did that in the previous games. The nazis and the commies are fighting against each other in Metro 2033, even though it makes no sense for them to appear in a postapocalyptic Russia mere 20 years after the bombs fell (the nazis even wear stahlhelms and speak with a German accent lol). In Metro Exodus, one of the main characters - Miller - is a paranoid old man with a siege mentality who believes that NATO is about to attack Russia. Also in Metro Exodus at certain point in the story the main characters reach a hidden bunker that belongs to the prewar government, only to find out that the members of the Russian government are a pack of rabid cannibals. Also in Metro Exodus the main characters visit the Caspian sea and fight evil Russians who enslaved the local Kazakhs.
Seems like Glukhovski can't keep his nose out of politics in his stories. I watched tv series The Swamp based on his script. It had a very good premise and beginning but by the end the characters felt like they were completely waisted by the authors and the story itself shifted to became some dumb political allegory about his view on Russians I guess.
I tried watching The Swamps cuz on the surface it looked like a cool mystery show in the vein of Twin Peaks, at that point I didn't know that it was written by Glukhovski. Dropped after the pilot.

I thought it was immediately obvious that the show's gonna be a political pamphlet. Right off the bat it bombards you with "evil gubermint oppressing a young techbro for creating a freedom of speech messenger app" (Durov and Telegram), "muslim girl is running away from her arranged husband" (Kadyrov and the Chechen question), "sellout pro-government agency gathering compromising materials" (Lahta center / Kremlinbots), "young girl running away from her oppressive conservative religious father" (anti-Christian agenda), etc etc. It was so heavy handed it almost felt like a parody.
► Show Spoiler
I hope Iranian military obliterates Glukhovski with a ballistic missile (in Minecraft).

There is more.

Dmitry Glukhovsky, creator of the Metro novel series, does not believe the next entry Metro 2039 should be called a game.

Man, what is going on with the devs getting so high on their own supply? I want whatever they are smoking (not really).

Complete ******* lack of self awareness, shows the drama class kids among us. Someone please nominate this man for a Nobel Prize or something.

It's taking me far too long to realize that no "in the spirit of [classic game]" indie project will ever have:
-A unique musical score by one of the few major composers making memorable OSTs
-The technical expertise to operate an in-house engine like the originals. Instead, shoving the mechanics into Unity or Godot, creating buggy, feature-incomplete messes
-A writing team able to make an engaging campaign that's more than just a string of scenarios
-fully staffed voicework
-a novel identity, instead always chasing after the original. Even sequels to original games tend to have more fully fleshed out iteration, even if they play drastically different, that seem better than the "half-baked" spiritual successors trying to recreate the same original game.

That's not Godot's fault. That's a good engine few know how to extend properly because everyone learns the stupid lazy way with Unreal Engine and Unity.

Games where bullets go exactly where you aim and it's your own fault that you missed? Only examples I can think of are Dead Space 1-3 and RE4/5.

A lot of games seem to implement random circle/cone shaped bullet spray where the further away you are the more likely you are due to miss because of RNG.

Kerbal Space Program is almost one of my favorite games. But it is so lacking in the way I wanted, progression. Like I could land on the moon (mun because they are reddity *******) but only because my rocket was a huge monstrosity that rattled around like it was taped together. I really wanted to unlock better gear and then do planet landing in a more high tech way. I also wanted to build some kind of space station filled with fuel like a depot. And use that to help get to other planets. And have some reason to attempt going to the other planets. Like being able to build stuff on the planets like a mining or research station or something which could earn things. Usually I just go to the moon then give up. They eventually added a research tree but it was half baked and grindy.

I also never understood the point of space planes because I couldn't get them to space. They were fun to fly around though, for a while. I know it has a lot of mods but I don't like mods in games like that. Why add overpowered mods when you could just use a cheat code or not play at all. I want better gear that is unlocked through progression.

I liked the game though. Just wish it could have had a bit more end game development. I hoped the sequel would improve things but instead they made a total mess of it.

I think it's the best AC (only played up to Syndicate), but I won't touch anything to do with Ubislop. It's a matter of principle.

Also, they'll totally make it lame and gay.

They filled the combat with Chinese Wukong Ching Chong special effects... every action generates a shockwave and sets off fireworks. I hate it!
