Did anyone else use the D&D 1/AD&D rulesets?

For discussing role-playing video games, you know, the ones with combat.

Post by Landers78 »

Bit of a weird question I know.

Just wondering if any other CRPG's besides the SSI games and Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale, used the original D&D or Advanced Dungeons and Dragons rulesets, or derivatives of (THAC0, etc)?

I know I am probably in a huge minority, but I actually prefer them to D&D 3.0 rules and above, and since I have played the crap out of the well known releases, wondered if any smaller or indy dev ever used them in their creation.

There's two lesser known console exclusive games that used the D&D ruleset.

Far too few PC games implemented the AD&D ruleset, which is a crying shame.
