Starfield doesn't have dismemberment/gore
It's just Fallout 4 how can this be true

fo4 also had different armor parts (left pauldron, right pauldron, left greave, right greave, etc), while starfield doesn't have that.

they've also scaled down on the whole npc life simulation, even harder than they did with skyrim or fo4. The vendors just stand in their shops 24/7 like in morrowind.

Why would this be getting an "HD overhaul"?

The only time I recall encountering it at all was in the space western town and the mars town, and it wasn't much.

Ohh just noticed it said modlist.
Still, can't recall any need for it. The problem was the game is ugly, not that it needed higher resolution textures.

I was mildly excited for Starfield, especially because of the esthetics. The subsequent reviews and nerdrage has diminished that enthusiasm quite a bit.

But because r*dditors/codexers in general lied blatantly about Mass Effect Andromeda, I'm still going to buy this game when I have time to play it. Maybe it is ****, but MEA was **** good as a game. Bit bland storywise and with too many *******, but nothing like the narrative claimed.

I 100%-ed Andromeda 4 times. The gameplay is fine, but the story is bad. Not horrifically bad, but about as bad as the worst parts of ME2 and ME3. The character writing is where it absolutely sucks.
Starfield is worse than Andromeda. I put about 100 hours into it and finished all the major questlines (main story and all the faction quests). The story makes absolutely no sense. The character writing is somehow worse than Andromeda's.
The only okay thing is the shipbuilding and even then it's kinda pointless because space exploration and ship combat suck. The regular gameplay is just boring slop. Andromeda was flashy and fast-paced with mechanics interacting in a satisfying way (ability combos), while Starfield is mechanically shallow and way too simple.
Starfield's also extremely safe and afraid of letting the player off the leash. The entire multiverse mechanic would've been perfect for letting you kill characters with a pop-up a la Morrowind saying something like "This character was important. Either load a save or find a new universe where he's alive." But, no, it feels like every second NPC is Essential.
Andromeda also has Starfield beat when it comes to environments. Sure, a lot of it is boring Earth **** (desert, arctic, jungle) but it's not procedurally generated 30x30 km map with the same dozen manually crafted points of interest copypasted on it across hundreds of planets.
Oh, and there are more ******* in Starfield than there were in Andromeda.

At the very least pirate it. Or get it on Game Pass or something if you really want to check it out. But don't reward Bethesda's incompetence with your hard-earned money.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."

I played twice Starfield: everytime I stopped around 30 hours time. A waste of my time, not worth even pirating, but I wanted to give the game a 2nd chance to maybe finish the story. Fallout 4, on the other hand, kept me going even after reaching 200 hours (first playthrough without any mods), not talking about previous fallout games which are better than 4.

Fallout 4 can be pretty fun sandbox game, also replaying it now. You dont really have to engage with most npcs and even the ghouls look better than starfield npcs. Especially with mods which give you more options for legendary effects and also add legendary power armor. Like these:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/66900
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50819

But the game is just too easy and could certainly use more enemies then. If you run weapons with 3 legendary effects and 2-3 do double dmg. And powerarmor with 4 times more durability. Starfield doesnt even have a sandbox to support that and I am quite surprised they havent used the powerarmor system from fallout4 somehow in Starfield. This was one of the few really good gameplay changes they did in fallout4. Where it actually feels different to regular armor compared to Fallout 3/NV.

Starfield should have removed the spaceship traveling part entirely, have a galaxy map for instant transport, and focus on adding fun stuff for traversing on terrain. I'm done with Bethesda, not hyped for anything they might release and similar for Obsidian after playng the turd outer worlds (1st one, I don't know the 2nd). No man sky has the framework for doing something that I wished Starfield would have been (NMS story is silly, but with a good writter than can conceive something good, could be something great in a new IP), but they have other plans in mind (Light no fire).

I got it for free by (literally) ripping off AMD for a free code and I'm STILL disappointed that I expended that much effort to get it.

It's got a cool shipbuilder... oh, wait... It's very restrictive and you cant even control where the connecting doors and ladders go... and it limits where parts can go.
(Modders tried to fix it, but ultimately failed, I heard. They fixed placement issues, but the interiors stymied them.)

At that point I'd started encountering the legion of tough, smart, brown women in charge of everything and I uninstalled it and never looked back.

No Man's Sky is stupid gameplay and a lot of ugly aliens and nonsense, but the base tech IS good! If only they had a skilled developer to make a good game with it.
Digging up random crap and finding boring space freighters ain't it for me.

Starfield just got updated with interplanetary travel. There are different cruise speeds to choose from, I assume slower speeds make you more vulnerable to enemy encounters.

The Lord of Chuds is playing starfield, if you're curious what the cruise mode is like.

The spaceships are so ugly, they're as ugly as the brown people.

In addition to M3 Greasegun, the dlc also adds Luger and Webley. Because nothing screams more ''scifi space game' than a bunch of WW2-era guns.

They should've added this stuff to Fo76 instead.

Now that Namco's patent on loading screen games expired several years ago, Bethesda should add them to their games. Perhaps Morrowind could be a loading screen game? That way you can play two Elder Scrolls at the same time!
