Companions Reimagin (Bellara Davrin Neve Taash) 1.0 — Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Got the achievement - recieve a strike on the nexus :)

What does mod do?

1. Visual Overhaul: Replaces head models and body proportions for the listed companions with unique models inspired by some Character Creation Presets.
• Affects casual, combat, and cutscene head models.
• Compatibility Note: Does not affect gear/armor models (only body proportions), making it compatible with most gear-replacement mods, that doesn't use Swap Library.
2. UI & Art: Replaces party selection tarot cards, map icons, action menu icons, and companion-related journal art (tarot cards are AI-generated).

Requirements:

1. Latest release of J-lyt's Frosty Mod Manager.
2. Bellara's tatoo from goddessofthetrash (included in main archive and needed to show the right tatoo on Bellara).

Installation:
1. Install latest Frosty Mod Manager release, using this tutorial
2. Download archive from Main files and activate mods of your choice and Bellara's tatoo in FMM.
Important! The mods are standalone if you are only changing one companion. If you choose to modify multiple companions, you must place "Companions Reimagin - SwapLib" BELOW my other mods in the mod manager load order.

CRITICAL COMPATIBILITY NOTE
This mod is NOT compatible with swap mods using The Swap Library (or similar), as this mod utilizes its own custom swap library.

I've added project files in case you want to customize the mod for yourself.

This mod is based on the following presets (with some adjustments):
• Bellara - Yuqi and Xiaotang - Two Female Elf Character Creation Preset Sliders and Save Files
• Davrin - Elf Male Warden - Character Creation Preset Sliders and Save File
• Neve - Human and Elf - Ayse de Riva - Character Preset Sliders and Save File
• Taash - Andorala - Qunari Preset

Other mods used on screenshots:
• P4 CC Expanded
• SEA Eyes
• Lighter Hairstyles - only on Davrin, lightened hairstyle 27
• Skin Detail Normal Tweaks
• Albinism - Paler Cool Skin Tones for Elves Humans and Dwarves
• Mine's Smooth 1 and Rosy 2 Complexions
• Teal Black Neve
• And custom Reshade that improves contrast and clarity

Known bugs (probably won't be solved):
• Bellara's hair may occasionally float (as if in zero gravity) during certain cutscenes before returning to normal. Probably it's just one of her artifacts acting up.
• Certain status conditions on Neve like Injured or Blighted may look slightly "off" or weird on the new model.

Yes the Carousel should show up here as well.

The very reason this mod came so late.
I was pretty sure i'm gonna skip, but eventually, nostalgia for the series (especially DAO) won out :)

So having decided to play, I firmly decided that at least the immediate environment needed to be corrected.
And while the dialogue is a bit thin, I must say that it was a lot of fun interacting with everyone (except Taash, and maybe Harding a little).
Nev and Davrin joined the main roster.

No, as far as I know.
Just imagine - find all her dialogues in the database, arrange them in order, come up with alternative dialogues (you can’t just leave silence in cutscenes), change them for all localizations.
And, of course, the most difficult part is the voice acting. Apparently neuro-voice acting of updated dialogues, but still.

Huge project. If it were as popular as BG3, for which there were such craftsmen, maybe someone would have done it.
But most anti-woke followers immediately abandoned the idea of playing after an advertising campaign aimed exclusively at the woke community

So you can just skip all the cutscenes :)
Her character is disgusting, even outside the topic of non-binary (lol, they had to invent computers to use this word in medieval fantasy) and the whole story is uninteresting, entirely devoted to the development of her identity.

But completing companion campaigns can affect the endings, so it's better to complete the quests.

I like the proof of concept, but I think the game is unsalvageable. The writing is just too awful to make it bearable. No matter how much you pretty up the companions, all of them are boring at best and absolutely insufferable otherwise.

Ps - I don't suppose there is also a mod that de-blacks the human default in character creation?

I commend your effort, but isn't this essentially putting gold leaf on a wet pile of diarrhea?
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Well, after changing the companions, in general, I enjoyed playing.

The dialogue is a bit empty (the occasional group therapy with companions is also annoying), but the combat is fun (if you let go of the fact that this is no longer a tactical RPG), and the story scenes are quite epic. The plot itself... may not be what we were hoping for after DAI, but it's something to think about.

Actually, I didn't find ANY antiwoke mod for this game. And no appearance change for NPC, except for just some swaps with existing NPC's.

Any chance to replace some of the NPCs in the game? Some look downright awful. Like that Elf/Dwarf couple.

A bit spammy but tested it out right now and Neve's first appearance has her looking correct but with no hair.

Well, yeah, I thought about this, and also about elves Veilgumpers.
But I finished the game and am not yet sure whether I will return to modding again. It's possible, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Try to disable all other mods, don't forget to place SwapLib at the bottom
What's your game version? It show in the options, last tab.

No worries, Psaiker. The fact that you changed the main companions into something less hideous is already commendable.

Disabled all mods and the SwapLib one is at the bottom. It works now. Just a bit of a shame I can't use my other mods now. Version is V.1417829

I wonder which of us is the real connoisseur of slop: the one who suffered through the entire game on release unmodded or the one who keeps playing it although with mods?

The fact that I'm willing to pay 19 bucks for the game solidifies my title. Oh and I'll probably revert Neve back to her vanilla look since she's the only character I liked during my 10h on release

You just need to find out which mod is causing the conflict and disable it. You don't have to turn off all the others.

Most likely one of those that uses Swap Library. These are marked with a sheet of paper icon in FMM

If you take Neve with you to knock down the scaffolding in the beginning, her skin reverts back to her normal skin tone for her damaged look. But only her face, so it's mismatched.

(Took this while she was in the middle of talking, so excuse the weird expression.)

EDIT: My bad, probably should have read the full description before I posted.
