I'm not going to defend Slavs when it comes to their jank, if that's what you're fishing for. If you want to mock the Slavs, you have my blessing.

It never really adds any depth because the goal is to kill the opponent and therefore there's usually not much reason to disable them instead.
Maybe it will be good, but nothing I've seen from owlcat make me think it will be well thought out

Who asked for this?
Fallout 1 and 2 did it and we all consider them some of the best RPGs of all time. I'm sure their UI can't match, because everyone has a different screen these days, but the idea itself is absolutely HQ, imo.

I used the system in FNV a lot because enemies requiring 100 bullets each meant slowing them down was helpful. It's probably a better gameplay concept when enemies are tankier, but that's a whole other problem!

Earlier I said that I wanted OwlCat to make a Warhammer FANTASY CRPG. After Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy, I don't want it. I'm 99,999% sure that if they make a fantasy game, it will be 4e-tier ****.

I have a feeling that a WH Fantasy game made by Owlcat would just be Kingmaker with flintlock guns, and the massive army battles that WH is famous for would just be a fancier version of the M&M minigame from WotR.

Nope. They are "Warhammerzing PF1e", with alterations on magic, miscasts, multiple turns needed to cast some spells, themed wizards instead of spell slots, flintlock stuff, and a generic "colonize the Border Princes realm," plus a level cap of 12, which would actually be good. In fact, I expect something as atrocious as the Rogue Trader/Dark Heresy system, as gamey as 4e, and as bloated as epic level 3.5e, where the gameplay is all about stacking 1565646131684165316853 buffs and debuffs and trying to get 35165310351 extra turns, and everything is anemic without endless buffs/debuffs; being hit by a demigryph knight at full charge, or a salvo from a dwarf thunderer, or a comet of Casandora wouldn't be impactful.

When I said that I want a Warhammer Fantasy, I was expecting the first(pfkm with alterations); now I know that I will get the second(their last game).

The called shots only happen if you use a precise attack
Shooting people in the eyes can blind them and may as well take them out of the fight

Battletech makes great use of the system. Besides the tankiness which you already mentioned, chance to hit depends heavily on positioning, so if an enemy has a single big-*** gun in his right arm, it's worth it to try and maneuver to his right to get a clear shot at it. Vice-versa, if they have an empty "shield" left arm, you'll want to move away from their left flank instead of fighting.

It's also a system that synergizes well with cover mechanics, because instead of a simple 'more cover = gooder' it now becomes more important to have cover that guards your important bits. Plus cover mechanics punish you for just circling around the enemy to "backstab" them in open ground (although that can be done better with a threaten/control mechanic).

That final bit of someone asking to date a space marine all the time is funny.

I think Owlcat missed an opportunity by making a kroot companion instead of a female tau companion, since that would've been a much more effective gooner gamer magnet than another negress companion.

Tau are gross as ****. Leathery and barely sexually dimorphic. Wouldn't appeal to gooners at all.

This is a female tau: https://f.rpghq.org/7SFQ8OqRl9aI.png

To make one appealing they'd have to disregard decades of previous art and lore and just replace the existing, well-established characters with a bunch of feminine chicks and pretend that this retcon was not a big deal and... oh. Oh.

Read UltraFan's post again. As disgusting as the female Tau are, its still better gooner bait than another negress.

The funniest thing is that - unlike the custodes retcon - making the female tau sexually attractive is a retcon that I think most modern 40k fans wouldn't mind that much.

Since the average follower of the series who relatively recently got into 40k no joke thinks that female tau look like this:
β–Ί Show Spoiler
Those who have been following the series for the longest time obviously know that the tau aren't attractive at all, but I think it's clear at this point that the likes of Games Workshop and Owlcat don't care about the fans of classic 40k.

If they are going to do senseless retcons, they should at least be retcons that the modern fans like and bring them money. Even the ones who got into post-Primaris Space Marine nu-40k are grossed out by female custodes.

EDIT: Fixed the broken image link by just uploading the image.

One of our priorities in game development is delivering memorable and exciting locations. We want players to remember every moment in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, so we are striving to engulf you in the unforgettable atmosphere of this universe. What do you think this place is?

Hasn't written anything good just knows how to get into places with people. Night Lords are doomed :headbang:

You hit real close to the mark. He is an incredibly reddit type, though he skipped past the ***** step and went straight to the next one, trying to an hero.

While having small children. Ugh.

Gotta LOLWUT here though. If you don't like ADB's Night Lords trilogy or Helsreach you have zero taste in Warhams novels, which is a ******* low bar already.

And he hasn't gotten worse in the two decades since, quite the contrary:

Looks like the original intended launch date for this may have been Dec 17th, 2025?
It pops up if you hover over the store icon on the steam news page of an article for it. It's not the publish date(below it), presumably some kind of date left in the database for whatever.

You can kill both of the eldar including sending them to the inquisition. You can kill the brown unstable psyker girl. You could also dismiss companions at any time.
