Character is set in the beginning.Brother Michael wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 02:02So are you playing as a set character? One with customization? Or do you choose between multiple set characters? Wasn’t clear from what I watched on it.

You play kliff. Later on there are two additional characters similar to how gta 5 does it. You can customize their hairstyles and colors.Brother Michael wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 02:02So are you playing as a set character? One with customization? At least he seems like a standard cool looking white guy (Korean). Can he only use the sword and shield or can he use other weapons/movesets?
I'd be ******* rich the amount of times I've heard this crap lol.Vaako wrote: ↑ March 19th, 2026, 01:27So the shills from this channel say it takes like 8hours for the game to even open up enough for people to enjoy it...
I have never loved a game that had me wait more than 30 minutes to enjoy it.

I saw dual wielding. He can also copy moves from enemies and bosses. Also uses wrestling moves such as the RKOBrother Michael wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 02:11At least he seems like a standard cool looking white guy (Korean). Can he only use the sword and shield or can he use other weapons/movesets?

I played DD2 but it's way too early to say what I prefer obviously but I'm pretty confident it will be this. I really enjoyed DD2 for the first 30 hours especially as someone who didn't play the first one, but the game just falls off a cliff so fast with the lack of enemy variety and zero postgame. I still think DLC could turn that game into an essential but Capcom are ******* *******DDC wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 01:34Currently it's getting shat on pretty hard in user reviews. I don't see that as conclusive, but anyone who has this try Dragon's Dogma 2 and strongly prefer one or the other?
As for the bad reviews it makes sense, it's a really polarizing game. If you can't handle some jank and need to be spoonfed you'll hate it, combine that with the slow start due to needing to introduce a lot of mechanics and most reviews being technical issues even if it's only a fraction of users, the reviews look horrible. Realistically nobody is qualified to review this game yet who just started at it's official launch. As of now imo this game is completely underrated but obviously this is all just very very early impressions of an enormous game

Someone who barely watched any videos or tips before jumping into this game will have a lot more issues finding healing items than if you start fresh in Breath of the Wild. And there they made like 3 shrines in the beginning where you can train your abilities also explain them. It comes really easy there. This one has no starter island and probably overwhelms most people with all the possibilites and quests you can do. Also from what I have seen at the beginning the enemy variety is really low mostly generic red dressed soldiers...also you die sooo ******* fast from explosives going off.methoxetamine wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 03:22I played DD2 but it's way too early to say what I prefer obviously but I'm pretty confident it will be this. And openworlds games should usually be designed arround that once the player is out of the tutorial he can ignore the mainquest, but has the most essential tools already. Or enemies/wildlife provide a steady supply of healing items and arrows. Or else you dont need an openworld and just keep it linear at the beginning. Like Final Fantasy XV just reverse.

The only reason any of you are talking about this game at all is because the AAA industry is completely rotted out.
Game looks fine, doesn't seem to be anything special about it. Another high budget open world action adventure fantasy game, whatever, might be an enjoyable timesinker as one would expect from an MMORPG dev. I myself am up to giving it a try some day soon, but you don't need to throw a hissy fit whenever someone thinks a game you like looks merely okay.Finarfin wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 01:04Go play ***** the Spire then and don't **** up this thread. Combat feels weighty and snappy. Graphics are nice (I have everything on high, with some tweaks and it is at 120fps constantly even when I see the entire map while flying) Controls feel fine so far too. Vaako is a ****** and should probably go suck his jew master's **** and ofcourse his futaloving homos too.
Also calling another a homo falls flat when you're all too eager to bring up and fantasize about homosexual activity.

Game would probably be better if you also had first person and items you pick up had actual models you can see well.

Holy ****, LMAO @ that guy jumping off the fence and then getting speared right out of midair by the guard like he's Bill Goldberg. Better interactivity between character models than WWE2k games.

Also the main reason many of us are even talking about foreign-made games, in this case Asian ones. You really have to scrape the bottom of the barrel in the western game market and you will still come short or with the games entering drinking age. So people turn to other markets for something better, japan and korea both have fairly decent markets (as in the have pulse unlike the western market), china is also up-and-coming in that. It's not that their games are great, it's that our games are moving in the direction of concord and veilguard while theirs are slowly improving or at least not regressing.J1M wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 03:45The only reason any of you are talking about this game at all is because the AAA industry is completely rotted out.
I like sugar, and I like tea.
Did some more side quests and the interaction outside of combat has a precise feel to it, I like using holding a button to select stuff (will probably have some bugs in more complex situation that I'm yet aware of, hopefully they patch everything by the time I reach those situations). I see a lot o people not having patience to reach certain milestones (like they didn't even knew that the pet can auto-loot stuff for you) so steam forum is a mess, but there are indeed some bugs cause I saw a notice from dev (not reached those parts yet). Controls, as expected, are worse on controller and that dude, the Pearl Abyss PR guy, should have kept his mouth shut and not promote the controller part that much cause I find keyboard and mouse being best. The game even has a notification at first launch that it's better played with gamepad
that is a fat lie.
For one of the side quests I had to cook some stuff and used the ingredients on wrong recipe: I had to go fishing barehanded and managed to make the recipe, but I like that it was intuitive and didn't felt confused what to do (like in not having money to buy ingredients or where to get a rod for fishing, I just went full confident on the closest body of water and hold E while making laps and gathered fish easy).

I have 90 minutes in it and I'm still not sure what to think. Honestly I think all of the major criticisms are completely valid. The controls (playing on an Xbox One controller) and UI are some of the worst of all time. The quest objectives and story are disjointed nonsense. I almost got filtered one minute into the game because it gives you an objective to talk to a guy, and I did a bunch of times and it still wouldn't trigger the next step.
On the other hand, I could see the combat turning out to be good (not universally highly regarded, but an acquired taste). The graphics are mostly good (playing on a 5090) with some rough spots. Some of the vegetation assets are bad and I think it looks silly how they seem perpetually set to "high wind" mode. The level of detail maintained at distance is good though. The world, at least what I've seen, feels more handcrafted than cut and paste. It seems to be long on variety, short on exposition. At least at this point, there is a real sense that I have no idea what I'll be doing in the game 5 minutes from now, or what the game as a whole will entail, which is something I like. I can wrap my head around what most games "are" within a few minutes, which definitely isn't the case here.
Overall I'm torn between refunding and checking it out down the line at a steep discount, or continuing on with it. Leaning towards a refund mainly since I have no shortage of other games I could be playing.

Even I, with amd gpu, I'm baffled as to why they didn't bother with INTEL ? XESS technology, in some games, works even better than FSR.

I mean I don't blame them... Steam GPU survey as of February 2026 shows us a whopping... 0.16% of users use Intel Arcyangg wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2026, 10:28Even I, with amd gpu, I'm baffled as to why they didn't bother with INTEL ? XESS technology, in some games, works even better than FSR.

So you can play something on your heckin teevee or whatever/sit on the couch. Peak American passtime ********. Add a Red Baron pizza for maximum effectiveness.

Are there any ******* and **** in the game? Kinda looks like slop but apparently the story is good? Apparently no sexual content so that's a bummer
