Just wait for a few months for reviews to settle and all the controversial bits to come to light. You don't have to play games the week they are released, you know? And at a $70 it better be ******* worth it, which means definitely wait for at least a few weeks after, and probably angle for a sale.

Considering it has denuvo - angle for a pirated version because **** getting that piece of **** degrading performance. There's already been some info that the game is CPU heavy, and if reviewer versions did not come with denuvo, that means it will be only worse.

Knowing it's Black Desert team I'm very cautious about this one. They are not good with the story, or writing, or content. Their current main "baby" Black Desert is a rather repetitive and grindy hell, they can't balance classes for ****, and they can't get PvP or node wars in order. Most of their content is the same **** with either run around in a circle killing stuff, or kill stuff around a pillar, but this time with more expensive gear. So I'm rather sceptical. The only thing they seem to be good at from BDO experience is moment to moment gameplay, where I have to give it to them - most classes are fun to play even if their numbers are not where they need to be.

I didn't watched the reviews religiously cause will spoil too many things, but from perusing the comments and certain moments:
- pop ins - hardware unboxed
- no skip for cutscene (brutal, this is the real problem they've kept hidden) - ACG review
- IGN didn't bother to upgrade abilities and was expecting easy boss fights, a classic.
I don't see any major problems, but this is my guilty pleasure after years of not playing games at launch. Pity they didn't priced the game a bit lower for balancing the bad reviews they receive now ( 50 bucks for standard edition would have helped them).

There's a cool trick with denuvo games I discovered using my steam deck.

Launch the game
Disconnect from the internet
Using another computer refund the game
Play the game (as fast as possible) and enjoy it

I did this with Atomic Heart but that game was simply too **** to complete, gave up after 2 weeks.

Oh yeah I forgot I did it also for resident evil 4 remake, it definitely works but you need to hurry up because there's a timelimit of 2 to 4 weeks.

Also disallowed is any OS updates, hardware changes or proton version changes if you are on linux.

You are basically in a race for finish the game without ever opening up your computer to use the internet until you are done.

So the shills from this channel say it takes like 8hours for the game to even open up enough for people to enjoy it... he praises the combat, which looks quite similar to Assassins Creed (no blood and gore :broken: ). Doesnt seem you can attack friendly npcs in towns, so probably also no crime system. Doesnt look like an easy to mod engine aswell... and Asians game companies hate that anyway and rarely support that.

Scenery looks nice and that you can glide/fly but you even need to grind reputation quests with merchants to get access to some items... this all sounds so tedious. And a fixed character too. At least Black Desert had a good character creator, wonder why they dont have that here. This was the biggest selling point of black desert.
Gameranx really sucks. I'd wait for type2productions to review it tbh

It's 126 GB so it will have to wait until after I've finished one of these other 120 GB games.

Played first mission, controls are great for k+m for what was available in first few fights + interactions with NPC, performance is good and parry feels good ( similar to Batman games). Save file location is at this location.
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Pearl Abyss\CD\save
Also, I can pause cutscene and there is a fast forward that I didn't tested - great QoL.
The bad: I needed to agree 2 times with EULA and being warned about having old gpu driver was the last straw.

Played about 2 hours, and pretty great. Combat feels weighty and snappy. Graphics are nice (I have everything on high, with some tweaks and it is at 120fps constantly even when I see the entire map while flying) Controls feel fine so far too. Vaako is a ****** and should probably go suck his jew master's **** and ofcourse his futaloving homos too.

Currently it's getting shat on pretty hard in user reviews. I don't see that as conclusive, but anyone who has this try Dragon's Dogma 2 and strongly prefer one or the other?

Game is pretty much Breath of the Wilds with black desert graphic. But the game mechanics are a lot harder to figure out and the controls.

So are you playing as a set character? One with customization? Or do you choose between multiple set characters? Wasn’t clear from what I watched on it.
