Alexis Kennedy vs. Failbetter Games (the end of the saga)

Post by The_Mask »

As many of us know back in 2016, Alexis Kennedy left Failbetter to create Weather Factory.

After a few years, Alexis Kennedy suddenly gets MeToo'd by some of his ex-colleagues at Failbetter.

He strikes back accusing them of trying to smear him, and trying to destroy his reputation, and files a lawsuit calling into question the ownership of Failbetter Games.

It's honestly a bit sad that it took me this long to catch up, but a month ago, these "issues" seem to have been solved.

Failbetter and Alexis Kennedy are pleased to have reached a mutually agreeable settlement of all their disputes, and by such settlement have drawn a line under their long-standing disagreements.

Failbetter and Alexis Kennedy are excited to return their full attention to making games that people love.

Weather Factory is known for making videogames such as Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours, and Alexis Kennedy seems to be one of the few developers still friends with Master Chris Avellone.

Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

We're probably never going to find out. But it's nice to see that his reputation was pretty much restored, since none of the initial accusations seem to have resulted in tangible outcome.

It's a Brit that made a couple of unique games, not sure if you could call them "RPGs". But they're definitely niche and unique in concept, and approach to RPGs. He got MeToo'd. He got keel-hauled. Now it turns out he was not guilty. I'm sure everyone is shocked.
