Chill *****, play something else. I'm currently doing a playthrough of Skyrim, with DAc0da, Vigilant, Glen-Moril, Unslaad, Beyond Reach and Lordbound. Pretty fun tbh.
That's exactly my problem, I'm trying to get away from this piece of **** Slay the Spire 2 so I need Crimson Desert to come and free me

All the plastic must have gone to these ****'s brains if they think I'm paying 70 bucks for this

I've paid the standard price, 60 EUR, for pre-order. I've initially thought I could get it on instant g (for 52 EUR), but the VAT increase is absurd, so I used fanatical in the end.

My last pre-order was in 2020 and I've made an exception here for the reason of avoiding to pay 70 EUR for a game (also the game has begun preload, so it's real and launches without delay - that is what I said to myself to feel confident ). This might be my smallest mistake so far, I can live with it. Now I need to see if I can avoid updating the GPU driver which I didn't update for a good while (and will gladly not update unless it offers a visible benefit and even then, should be at least 20% increase in performance or avoiding major bugs).

If a reviewer with 600 hrs in RDR2 praises your gaym, you need to backflip off a bridge in front of a train and shoot yourself.

I've played only 50 hours of RDR2, didn't even finish the story, so I take his previous experience of 600 hours as wierd and not important (like saying MS Word in CV). That being said, I feel like CD will have a good progression loop, because otherwise I will hate the game to the core.

You ever thought the game might be **** and thats why the preorder is cheaper? I wouldnt give a **** about any reviewers who get early access to review games. Its rare that they are allowed to be negative at all. I tried black desert when that came out didnt even play it for more than 10 hours after I didnt even get 1 new outfit drop in that time. If the devs cant understand that progression also needs to be visible they dont understand games at all.

The foliage looks really ugly but it's hard to tell if that's just video compression. The landscape looks like something from Palworld, Zelda, or Genshin Impact or something. Not really a fan of it. The particle effects are way too much. Some of the boss fights in the gameplay reveals looked really jankey, like the animations of the bosses movements and how enemies would move around the player. The lighting also looks a bit harsh in some areas imho.

Maybe my imagination is dead, but it just looks like all other UE5 slop with maybe a few unique things, but there's zero coherent theming in that trailer. All spectacle, zero things to make me care.
Strange how a game with an in-house engine somehow looks like UE5 slop. Did you even watch any footage
With the way the reflections look on the grass, mud, and other terrain features, it does look a lot like Unreal Engine 5. The particle effects does not help with that either.

Will my weapons break in every single fight? Will I be unable to complete quests because of the weather? Will the game be a boring chore?

I was going to buy it when I saw the combat, but when those BOTW-esque gameplay moments took centre stage, I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe on sale.
The devs even added a glider which was a thing that pretty much started with BOTW as well I think. Every game has a glider these days it's way overdone (skip to 2:28):

I think this is an example of where developers want their game to do everything in order to appeal to as much of a wide audience as possible.

Yes, they want to have numbers of preorder at launch to boast so it creates a loop of hype for buyers after launch, so Pearl Abyss has deals with retailers (I've gotten a second game for free for buying CD, Asterix and Obelix xxl 2 ). I think this game is not for everyone, 80% sure it's for me, but will avoid any new review until I've played it for 10 hours. I'm not determined to like the game no matter what, but I really want it to be decent and play for over 100 hours.

Then maybe wait 1-2 weeks after release for worthwhile reviewers. Or else you are just supporting a bad business model which only works if people buy into hype and turn their brain off.

Does this game warrant a hursh boycott? As of now, no. Yes, denuvo, I will always hate it more than they hate us, but it's only a little part of this game. I've done my part by buying 1 day before launch and paying no more than 60 Euro for the game. The rest is history and... I have Asterix as backup if CD is not good.

Well if you find out its worth to boycott after your money is gone and you cant refund anymore you have already lost. Cant imagine having Fomo just to play this John Snow simulator.

Just don't preorder games?

I don't have that issue tho because I'm poor and have to wait for sales several years later, or just take an alternative route there.

You can refund a preorder up until the game launches, you still get your 2 hour playtime window. But not only am I not refunding, I genuinely am more confident this game is good after seeing the journo ****** reviews

Kingsroad is fine when you do the story quests but as soon as you are max level and do the endgame stuff it turns into generic grind and fetch ****.

So the shills from this channel say it takes like 8hours for the game to even open up enough for people to enjoy it... he praises the combat, which looks quite similar to Assassins Creed (no blood and gore :broken: ). Doesnt seem you can attack friendly npcs in towns, so probably also no crime system. Doesnt look like an easy to mod engine aswell... and Asians game companies hate that anyway and rarely support that.

Scenery looks nice and that you can glide/fly but you even need to grind reputation quests with merchants to get access to some items... this all sounds so tedious. And a fixed character too. At least Black Desert had a good character creator, wonder why they dont have that here. This was the biggest selling point of black desert.

Looks pretty good to me and it's about time for me to hit my quota of one open-world slop game for every 1-2 years. It's actually been a little more than two years since I played Days Gone. I find these types of games are immensely more fun if you don't overexpose yourself to them. Combat looks like it's in that "good enough" category. Hopefully it has some decent loot and the world has enough going on between major points of interest to be worth exploring.
