Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

Guessing they may have talked about it sometime when working on Serpent in the Staglands.

Seemed like an RPG to me for the bit I played. Is this one of those weird mixups where CRPG is considered a specific subgenre of RPG?

my complaints from what I played:

feels like combat sorta just happens, and it's also not very in-depth. Not obvious at all what enemies are doing, what spells/abilities(?) are/what they do, and so on
they chose to use non-standard controls for almost everything. As an example of this not being hyperbole: Mousewheel? Changes your active party member.
nothing is really explained, they expect you to just go read the manual rather than having a quick tooltip pop up the first time you encounter a feature to tell you wtf the rotating circle with the shapes are, what attacks being highlighted means, etc., No thanks! I don't feel like reading paragraphs of text to understand a game mechanic just as the game started.

Seen that before, weird thing to say considering a CRPG is what an RPG actually is

This game looks like it has something going on but I'm hesitating on trying it out by some of the negative reviews, specially because they read more honest than the positive ones.

Just by seeing the pictures I can say it's a CRPG, that said, I'm interested in more experienced thoughts as time passes  Not very fond of seeing the game just came and they're already patching it, but hey such is this age

Just what I've read in all the reviews that seemed good, specially the combat part. Is the story any good though?

But how many actual positions does it have? I've seen lots of games implement it as slider, but I've not seen one offer more than two positions for it.

You know what...I'm kinda okay with that implementation. It's not as if I haven't insulted people for being a girlyman before. Having a slider for it just enables me to quantify the insult. This is actually brilliant, since having it as a defined quantity in the game would enable creating an NPC that can actually insult you for it. It's brilliant and if I were going to make a game, I would steal it.

I'm thinking more "ahead of the curve" given how hard they're going on migration ******** recently.

Man, I just want an RPG where you can play as someone who doesn't like ***** stuff. I would like Traynor a lot more in Mass Effect if I could order her to stop perving on EDI. And then if she counters if you don't do the same for Joker, be able to say "I'm not a hypocrite. I told you to stop because you're both women, not because of protocol." I always wanted these options, even back when I myself still indulged in same-sex desires.

The userinterface and font looks pretty nice but the characters look stupid.

The visuals are spectacular, but I am not into controlling a party of 4 in real time. I hope they may release another game with a different type of a gameplay.

Turn Based ftw. The only RTwP game that wasn't annoying was Tyranny.

It's not even RTwP

There's so few games with this type of combat that there's really no descriptor for it beyond "like parasite eve"

Stats on the top right change according the slider value. I'm assuming this particular race, Pasaaren, the males are weaker & more dextrous. Or are all races like this?

Extremely gay if the latter.
