This looks like a circus. Do Koreans actually like this kind of aesthetic?

Nah, it's the Korean mmo look. The BDO looks like this too and it's been around since something like 2014.

Knowing Pearl Abyss, it's a good chance this will be just slop. They are incapable of good writing (as most koreans are), what they produce is highly convoluted and often nonsensical stories that do actually look like AI handiwork. The gameplay will probably be entertaining at least to a point, since that's one thing BDO sort of has going for it (although there's a lot of room for further discussion). Be ready for massive pop-in, BDO still has it even on "Ultra" screenshot taking settings, and even if you theoretically could disable such aggressive culling the game would simply stop performing at all, since it would make CPU bottlenecking issues even worse.

My projection it will be something in the ballpark of a 5/10 slop action RPG, with absolutely unremarkable story, somewhat interesting gameplay, and poor optimization with CPU bottleneck for most people.

Most Korean MMOs look good. The only other slop I know of is Blade and Souls and Vindictus. ArcheAge kinda too I guess.

Aion, Lineage, Terra looked great. MU also looks fine I think.

You have Ragnarok Online and Tree of Saviour if you like cutesy stuff.

Requiem is from Korea and spectacularly beautiful. It is by far my favourite look to mmos. The only other close similar look I know of is Metin2 but the game seemingly only exists for eastern europeons.

Reading any reddit thread (yes, any of them, they chime in obsessively about Trump), you'd think the entire economy is in shambles because of tariffs and it's all Trumps fault, but hell if I can see it other than computer parts. Real estate prices are stabilized, gas is less, I got a big raise and a tax refund, and stocks are way up.
This has been the worst year for my portfolio so far lmao

So console ******* are the biggest contributor behind wokeness in gaming since they fund Sony and Microsoft with every purchase right? They sell consoles at a loss but take 30 percent of every purchase you make from their store. So even if you deceive yourself by saying hey i am just playing Basedborne and Black Monkey; you are actually funding Concord and Avowed.

Tech stocks, but I've been selling calls to offset it.
Also when I say year I mean the calendar year. 2025 was huge gains.

Cool mod that just mirrors the world of Gothic II. I like things like this for replays. The Uncharted games had this built in as an unlockable.

Yeah they even had a mirror on death option which legitimately gave me a headache when I tried playing it with that enabled.
