GameDate - Website to Revive Dead Multiplayer Games

Post by Oyster Sauce »

https://www.gamedate.org/

It's only a 2 minute video that you should watch but I shall summarize

-No account required at all, either to create or sign up for game nights. You get a unique anonymous hash for commenting on each session thread.
-Googleable and not obfuscated like Discord is. If somebody searches "SWAT 4 multiplayer", sessions can show up.
-Users can indicate the likelihood they'll be able to join a game night to show interest levels.
-Can setup and join sessions for PC, console, and emulated games.
-Beautiful looking website.
-You can set up alerts to your email, Discord, Google/Apple calendars.
-"In Demand" tab where each week you can pick up to 5 games you'd like to play to make it more likely for someone to set up a session.
-Launched less than a week ago.

There are even MUD gamers

https://www.gamedate.org/s/550l4b1r6
Thursday evenings, 8pm UK time, mudii.co.uk instance of MUD2

Telnet to http://www.mudii.co.uk, port 23. Uncheck the 'secure' checkbox if using Mudlet as your mud client of choice.

MUD2 is a text-based, 100% gratis multi user dungeon (MMO precursor) from 1985. No graphics, no payments, and it's permadeath.

Most Thursdays at 8pm, we carry on the ancient tradition of the weekly 'mob bash' - attempting to kill every single mob in the game within the span of two hours. Chaos usually ensues.

New players welcome.

I don't really see how this is any different than posting that you want to play a game anywhere else and is pretty much entirely reliant on this website becoming extremely popular.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Just played a bunch of full matches on a 21 year old game thanks to this website. I took this screenshot right before the scheduled time. It was a lot of fun.

Got to play The Ship tonight. I've been wanting to try it for like 20 years. Very fun.

People have been playing these. Here's one that's planned for 3ish days from now. The host is taking map suggestions in the comments.

Probably too early for me, but I'll install the game just in case.
