The "trench" part of the Trench Crusade refers to the "neovaginas" that the ******** running the discord call their axe wounds.

****, I just found out that Trench Crusade - a game with huge potential - just decided to flush itself into the toilet because the creators are libtards who couldn't keep their opinions separate from business and went full mask off.

At least TC showed us that we are capable of funding and creating our own war games if the core idea is good enough, tho the negative is that seeing how a rising game with such a huge traction and momentum just committed suicide in such an embarrassing way, people will now be more suspicious and cautious about what future games they may want to help fund.

Is a real shame.

Representation
Whether inadvertently or purposefully, we’ve seen a lot of creators cross the line recently when it comes to naming and advertising their products.

This goes from flat out calling their listings “Trench Crusade – unit name – faction name” to creating approximations of our logo or affixing “Compatible with”–like labels and icons to their images and descriptions, despite the latter being a previously announced program that has not been live until now (outside of a very limited number of exceptions).

This has caused a lot of confusion about what is official amongst players. Many of you will be able to recognise an official Trench Crusade product from an unlicensed one. Not all buyers are as knowledgeable and frequently get caught up buying unofficial models and products, believing that they are official or licensed.

Whilst creators have a right to “fair use” of our intellectual property, when that use deliberately or unintentionally causes confusion amongst buyers, causes reputational damages to us, directly competes with our own products, or causes us harm – then that does not fall under fair use. Once again, we expect professional creators to know the difference.

Compatible with Trench Crusade
Alongside this Community License comes the “Compatible with Trench Crusade” License to support and promote creators who play by the rules and genuinely want to support the game and community.

This is a separate agreement that must be applied for. It builds off of the main Community License with a few additional stipulations. If accepted, it will allow you to advertise your creation as “Trench Crusade Compatible” which includes a set of logos you can use. The license can be accessed via the Community License page.
This is mostly not true btw, under US trademark law you are allowed to say your product is compatible with another product, this is protected under nominative fair use.
also:
Whilst creators have a right to “fair use” of our intellectual property, […] directly competes with our own products […] then that does not fall under fair use
?? no?

It's interesting to see the myth of the satanic panic continue to grow when gygax himself attributed it to increasing D&D sales/success

Traveller has changed remarkably little since its original edition. Any of the traveller editions, excluding things like e.g., T20 or GURPS Traveller, are much closer to each other than most of D&D is to each other.

3.5e still has 10x more third-party/fan-content compared to 5e outside of **** like youtube. Actual settings, classes, D20 products, etc.,
WotC traded diehard core fans for tourists and foids.

(I've always hated 3.5e so I'm not even saying this as someone who is jaded)

Level: 8
Range: 6"
Area of Effect: 2" radius
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: None

By means of this dread utterance, the magic-user speaks a syllable of ancient puissance which inflames the passions of all creatures of dark complexion within the area of effect. Such creatures, if possessed of hearing and the capacity for wrath, are immediately seized by violent fury directed foremost at the caster of the spell.

Affected beings must attack the caster to the best of their ability, closing to melee if possible and employing missile or other forms of assault if such are at hand. Their conduct becomes wild, erratic, and chaotic in the extreme. Should the creature possess any form of sonic or sound-based attack, it will favor such means above all others.

Furthermore, those so enchanted bear particular enmity toward creatures of Lawful alignment. Any such individuals within reach become objects of secondary hatred, and the enraged creatures will strike at them with especial vigor should the opportunity present itself, whether or not such beings are responsible for the spell’s casting.

If an affected creature communicates the substance or intent of the spoken word to another creature of dark complexion which was not within the original area of effect, that creature must immediately check to determine if it too becomes subject to the dweomer. If the creature can hear and comprehend the message conveyed (whether by speech, mimicry, magical sending, or similar means), it likewise falls under the influence of the spell for the remainder of its duration. This transmission may occur any number of times, provided the spell’s duration has not elapsed.

Creatures lacking true volition, those unable to perceive or comprehend the communication of the word, those without capacity for anger, or those of light complexion are unaffected by the dweomer.

I got my Draw Steel books, currently planning for the first session. The fights are huge if you use the recommended system, even a standard fight for 1st level has 25 goblins against 6 PCs. I'll report back after the session (which isn't scheduled yet)

Mike Mearls has a lot of things to say.
He was a designer for 4th and 5th edition "D&D"
Yes, it's generally what you might expect, but still, wow.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Yeah Sword World is complete *** when compared with proper Western tabletop.

However, it was the only available tabletop in the Japanese market for a good while, and it did end up influencing several famous fantasy anime series.

From Lodoss War and Slayers to Overlord, you can see the influence that it had in the Japs.

They're great. MRY (of Primordia fame) is making an RPG-ish inspired by Barbarian Prince, it's called Fallen Gods. I've played it as part of the beta, it's great but who knows when it will release. Go check the store page.

This is harder than playing with a group. You need to be both a GM and a player, plus you need to be able to adapt the system, if it is designed for group play, for solo RP, which also requires certain knowledge and understanding, for example, how to play someone else's campaign and not spoil everything for yourself while reading the book for it during the playthrough. But overall, it is an solid option. Especially if we are talking about journalling games. With the advent of AI, keeping tables, tracking the hero's condition, etc., is many times easier.
