Feel somewhat sorry for Schofield. One of the few in the industry who had above average t-levels.
I have no idea how they ****** it up so badly. From all the interviews he gave he to have a good idea of what people liked about Dead Space, and yet a bunch of EA wage slaves managed to make the superior product. All Schofield had to do was make a clone of Dead Space 2 and everyone would have been happy.

This is clearly another instance of the gaming auteur being unable to make a quality product once removed from the real talent. See also Warren Spector, (((Ken Levine))), Peter Molyneux, Richard Garriott, Tim Cain etc.

Don't think Ancel is dead, at least nothing on the wiki about it. Although I think I recall there was a rumour to that effect a while back.
You are correct. The person that died is Émile Morel, which had been put in charge of the project around late 2022 or early 2023.

Just going to post this here in advance. Epic exclusive with a black female protagonist. They're relying on everybody except people who buy video games to pay them for their game.

After watching some gameplay it doesn't look terrible, but I'm not feeling particularly gripped by it either.

Max Payne was a fluke, Remedy have impressive engineers but their design and writing teams are pathologically unable to produce a competent storyfag action game.

Forget about Remedy's impressive engineers, you'll need RTX 3070 just to play on medium settings in 1080p and with DLSS on.

Modern AAA games require an army of artists.
If they reused environment assets and textures from previous games nobody would notice.
Paying the cost to model shrubs over and over for every title seems like such a waste.

Hell didn't they copy an entire map in Farcry and people still gobbled it up like slop?

A few weeks after the cancellation of Hyenas, CA has just released the latest mainline Total War game: Pharaoh. Its peak player count is even lower than the demo for Shogun 2 and it currently has a mere 377 mixed reviews on Steam.

Image
All their games after Rome 2 were terrible. I only say Rome 2 because of some of the mods it has. Besides that the new games are all Warhammer copies, shame they ruined their game with "heros". I got a free copy of the Total War Troy one played it for 30 mins and uninstalled.

And ironically, hyper-realistic graphics can and often do diminish the impact of a game's storyline. When nothing is left to the imagination, and when too many strenuous details overwhelm the screen, it diminishes both the playability and readability of a game. We accept the fact that a game like Oblivion will always be wonky and unpredictable, and many appreciate it for that, but if such a thing were to happen in a modern AAA game like Spider-Man 2 or the upcoming Alan Wake II, it would immediately take us out of the experience. Because we expect realistic-looking things to behave as they do in the real world. There can also be the uncanny valley effect, although that is less common with today's games.

main reason for **** performance & high requirements (when disregarding raytracing) is realtime GI, which still looks like complete *** compared to 15 year old baked GI solutions

One game that flew under the radar is Kerbal Space Program 2. The launch was disastrous, and to this day many bugs in the game have not been fixed. There's even rumors that the new devs have pretty much copypasted code from the old game. Not only that, the original developer closed down and a new, equally incompetent, bunch was put in their place.

Meanwhile, a bunch of HUEs that had to fight hordes of cannibal ******* to reach their office from the favela managed to deliver a semi-functional product, and literal crack to autists.

The new Western **** developers couldn't even manage that, despite their one and only job being to copy the game and improve the code.

<Rusty_Shackleford_> to run cities: skylines 2 at 1080p and 60 FPS you need a RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX

The old devs were shut down against their will.
  • A report from Bloomberg states that Star Theory Games has shut down after Take-Two Interactive took over development of Kerbal Space Program 2.
In December 2019, Star Theory Games employees received a message through LinkedIn from Michael Cook, executive producer for Private Division, which is the indie publishing branch of Take-Two Interactive.
The message said that Kerbal Space Program 2 was no longer Star Theory’s game to make, and also that employees were welcome to work on the game if they became part of the newly appointed developer’s team.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make, but it became necessary when we felt business circumstances might compromise the development, execution and integrity of the game,” read the message from Cook. “To that end, we encourage you to apply for a position with us.
The new ones started late and are of questionable skills.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Pajeets are gonna ******. The ones responsible are those in the actual studio that allowed these assets to be put in the game... but now that I think about it, the ones making that decision were likely Pajeets too.

I remembering watching a video on recent AI developments, and the presenter pulling a research paper from MicroSoft's AI division on the screen as the source of his commentary, and lo and behold, every name on the study was a ****** - and there was around a dozen names on the front page.

These people have done irreparable damage to the IT industry, and will lead to its complete collapse. No complex system can sustain being flooded with this many low IQ, nepotistic street shitters.
