Was this before or after the psy nerfs?
Even after, psychokinesis still good. I did a (unifnished) max difficulty psychokinesis run. This is what I can do in round one against Carnifex, without maxing STR like I said. Took 55% of his hp with telekinectic proxy + implosion + punch.

Another thing that I don't like. Not only gender-locked classes, but when they make Assassins as Dagger acrobats. Assassins should be engineers of death, using arbalests with poisoned bolts, firearms (if the setting has), stealth, disguise, traps, caltrops, etc. It has magic, illusion magic, dispelling magic, etc. Dragon's Dogma 1 Assassin is the best martial assassin, and Shadowbane is the best magical assassin, imo.

Talking about Gender locking stuff, Diablo 2 recently got a Warlock DLC, decades after its release.

Cool, it's not bad enough for new games to be "release fluid", gotta keep ******* with old games as well. Can't wait to replay command & conquer with Kane being a black woman.

Yes, all for gender locking classes, but also race locking. Remember how in wow some races couldn't be some classes?
No female knights and warriors, no black knights and paladins, etc.. Blacks can have their culturally appropriate classes, same goes for everyone else.

Gender-locked classes do not make a lot of sense unless the game you are playing has you playing as a commoner. Player characters, especially in D&D, are on the far-right side of the bell-curve. They are smarter, tougher, stronger, and wiser than the general population. It does not matter if 99% of women are not strong enough to best a man in melee combat, the PCs are part of the 1% that are that strong.

And so are the bad guys the far right of the bell curve. Sure, maybe you fight some peasants or somesuch in low level campaigns, but at higher level you are still supposedly playing on even ground, so exactly where the advantage of being far right on the bell curve means nothing. If not gender locking women out of martial classes that require strength, then give them realistic stats vs men so there's never an optimal way to build a female warrior/knight vs a male one. And don't try to strawman "average man vs exceptional woman", we are talking exceptional adventurers and villains against each other.

What I particularly like in Warhammer is that all societies that restrict casters to female only has lore reasons. For example, Druchii? Due the prophecy of demise. Bretonnia? Religious zealotry. You can be a "hedge wizard" persecuted but not a holy Grail Damsel in Bretonnia if male.

That said, Imagine how triggering Balthasar Gelt must be to Bretonnians:
Image
  • Male caster
  • Born commoner, wealthier than most Elector Counts
  • Riding a Pegasus(peasants get executed in Bretonnia by merely touching one)
  • Using lore of Metal, able to reduce armor into dust, the best anti armor spell school.
  • Using Alchemy and High Alchemy and make powder more efficient
  • Transmutes entire armies into golden statues.
  • Loves guns, steam engines and is loved in Nuln

No, I don't want to be locked from playing a class if I'm a male character. You shouldnt be allowed to play as women at all anyway though. Race locked classes are good however.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
