Post by MadPreacher »

Due to the abject failure of Soys Row Embracer Group is forcing a change to how games are greenlit.

I wonder if the new games have been so perfunctory because big video game companies are directing their resources to developing virtual reality/gamification related things.

I don't know. What I do know that with all the failures and the lack of profit is forcing many companies to hop off of the ESG bandwagon. Even Black Rock and Vanguard have really backed off on it as they're losing shareholder confidence. The market is just correcting itself and these people are finding out that even with the printing press on their side they still are subject to market forces.

I wonder who bought these games to begin with. It's always been GTAs ******** little brother, the only selling point being "haha look we are GTA but more wacky!". But since GTA itself has never taken itself seriously, the entire SR shtick is completely redundant.

Dunno, I only played SRII. Bought it for peanuts some years after release and found it legit fun. Once it was definitely more wacky than GTA but since the 5th chapter embraced nonsense in some of the quests (shooting aliens high on drugs), that distinction became less important.

Imo, there's abundant space for a lower budget GTA-like that takes itself less seriously. Gamedev cycle has become so long and drawn out that you're bound to have a customer base aching for that, between releases of major titles.
I mean, it's easy cash. The design is established, just model a decently thought out new city and environments. Have decent writers, people that can actually write a joke or two and make you smile, if not laugh out loud. Add wacky weapons that are OP and fun to use.
This should be low risk enough to entice a publisher or two, they love reharsals in current year.

The fact this thing failed boggles the mind. How many people looked at that during production and went: "Yes. This is it. This is what people want" ? I'd really love to have a full picture here.

They literally thought this goyslop was going to be happily swallowed by goyim because it's current year (tm) and greenlit it. It's just what they think about you: you are what you eat etc., so to speak. But the game was so woke and **** even the brainwashed goyim laughed at it.

I guess they can just stick to making sterille and boring reboots with controlled level of faggotry and find ways to "adapt" remakes of old games to "modern audience".

Look at the bright side. This was one of the funniest vidya clusterfucks as of late.

4 took itself ultra seriously which is why SR 2 got the audience it did, it provided pure fun wackiness Rockstar wasn't interested in doing anymore.

""Oh, and one last thing... while I probably won't be here to see the launch, our new Saints Row game is absolutely going to blow the roof off," Watson wrote. "I am beyond proud to have been a part of bringing it to life.""

Poor IdolNinja. Guy spent his last days on this earth working on the SR2 update that'll probably never see the light of day now.
