Ehh.. Cringe woman moment aside, I used to find the novelty of Steam's various "fests" pretty fun, at least in a discovery sense. Next Fests are still interesting to poke around in to try and find a small diamond amongst the shite, but man... So many of their promotions have begun including games that don't, even remotely, fit their genre/theme that I rarely bother looking at the page. If something is good, I'm sure I'll hear about it via word of mouth, video, or on a forum somewhere.

I actually liked that. Black PR is still PR.

You like being infantilized by an HR harridan? "Black PR" implies that the ad was received poorly but this isn't the case, all the xitter comments are to the effect of "yaas queen slay." Every aspect of the video is the epitome of female attention-seeking narcissism.
"Here at Steam we started looking ahead through the year and realized just how many awesome themed fests we have planned throughout 2026, so we asked ourselves, how can we visually represent that for people"
> establishes social consensus and altruistic intent
" I challenge myself to do so, using just what I find in my kid's playroom."
> reframes the subject around herself
> signals her fertility
> remains front and center for the rest of the shot

This had nothing to do with video games. This was a middle-aged woman using vidya as a prop to gain male attention. "Look at me! I have a few eggs left! Please would a high-status male come and fertilize them!"

Intolerable behavior.

Apparently this might not be entirely true, it is claimed to actually be:

Thus avoiding the entire issue, and probably saving some localization budget.

Meh, it seems there are different reasons as to why Lara is the way she is. Either way, that's not how gamers viewed the character, and it's not the reason why the industry is a DEI shithole today. The games were still made by talented men, for male players to enjoy.
That's him openly admitting they were using sex appeal to insert feminism into gaming and coomers were enabling it because COOOOOMMM :)
You really can't say if that was his honest intentions though, he was probably saying **** like that to avoid stating the obvious "Oh we did it because we wanted a hot girl" etc etc. The 90s was just as liberal as today, make no mistake, so you kinda had to mask some of this stuff under the guise of "girl power" and all that. Especially in Britbongland.
this is exactly what it was and anyone who lived through the time period knows this. lara's tits and *** were shown everywhere. she was designed that way to sell games because sex sells. the guy who said that was just covering his ***

Been reading old PC Gamers magazines, they do a significantly better job at showcasing games than anything does today

"from the makers of...." Diablo 1 & 2, Hellgate: London, Torchlight

After Stormgate, I assume this will be bad, but it looks like it has good diabloslop bones. I hope the procedurally generated part just means fitting puzzle pieces like Diablo and not boring no-design randomness.

If you mean gather materials and such, that Grimshire game apparently includes that.

The new CCP farming game is supposed to do something similar. Although I hear it has a ****** option in character creation.

I gave the Don't Stop Girlypop! demo a chance. I think the premise is cool. The game completely lacks visual clarity.

It keeps talking about revolution. I like to think this is the revolution of Whites developing racial consciousness and defeating globo-homo.

I wonder if this game may be one of the few released nowadays with an all-White all-male developer team.
