I no longer even want to play Elden Ring. I'm tired of encountering the same boss 2381237123 times. I'm just gonna rush it using multiplayer and then do the dung eater ending, me think.

I feel like every other day there's another souls slop clone. It is as bad as those survival slop games

I think there's a few mods that just let you fight the bosses. Hell theres a mod in development trying to turn elden ring into a linear experience and condensing the open world or something like that.

We were discussing code vein 2 which is trying (emphasize on try) to imitate elden rings open world.

Code Vein 1 was a genuinely okay game and pretty novel for its time. There's some good mods for it too I can recommend. You could see where the devs could have easily improved to make a far superior sequel... sigh

Figured it would be nice to have a dedicated thread to contain discussion on all things souls-like considering we're getting what......3-4 games in that style releasing this year alone. On that note code vein 2 comes out in 3 days and Nioh 3 in a little over a week. Code Vein 2 has been somewhat censored compared to the prior title. Npc's still have big booba and you can increase you breast size (to a moderate degree) but they put these awkward black shorts under specific clothing that didn't exist before in the prior title. Bandai going woke is nothing new but it's now more noticeably bleeding into Japanese games and people are taking notice. Localization from what I've been told is also somewhat suspect and people have pointed out some odd mistranslations in the dialogue. I of course will take one for the team and give my thoughts. Hopefully writing a review for that will be a lot easier then trying to write a review for Silksong was.

I regret to inform as of the current demo for Nioh 3 it has body types 1 and 2. This is different from Nioh 2 which had male and female. They did keep the boob slider and you can give your character some pretty massive breasts. You can also give your female a thong though considering there's no *** slider I wouldn't recommend it.

I already complained to their customer support. If enough people made themselves genuinely annoying and also submitted complaints it could actually get changed. Bitching and moaning and seething on X like most people do will get nowhere. If you dudes also want to complain to Koeitecmo i linked the form.

I've played about 2 hours of Nioh 3 so far and I've played close to 40 of Nioh 2 over the past few weeks so I'm new to the series. First impression is it's nowhere near as good as 2, but a lot of basic stuff needs to be unlocked like stances, so I'm reserving my judgment until I get further. Feels weird having a jump (double jump, at that), will probably make it awkward to go back to Nioh 2 if I play too much of 3

Oh also Nioh isn't even a soulslike so I'm not sure why I'm even talking about it here

Shrines act as checkpoints similar to Bonfires in Dark Souls
Dying takes away your Amrita (Souls-eqivalent) and enemies respawn and you need to go to the point where you died to get the Amrita back
Standard enemies still do tons of damage, and bosses require you to dodge, parry and adjust to their fighting
Dark Souls and Nioh both have checkpoints, the same punishments for dying, the same layout and loop regarding the world/levels (you fight through the area, open a previously locked door or ladder for a shortcut and so on)

biggest differences really are just the setting and the loot system. I certainly prefer souls with no random loot and a few more lighter environments. Nioh always looked so bleak and the stance system gatekept me from getting into Nioh 1 and the ugly bosses.

To be fair adult Link looks more masculine then these two and he's a boy in most Zelda games so I wouldn't expect him to look like the Chad face meme.

There's a lot of similarities but ultimately the focus of the game is combat and the combat is absolutely nothing like souls. The number one advice people give to people going to Nioh from other soulslikes is to forget all of your souls habits. I feel like I'm playing an action game when playing Nioh, not a soulslike

52% of the 1,464 user reviews for this game are positive.

UE5
awful performance
doesn't look better than the original
barren open world crap; level design really is dead, huh?
textures are there, but look like they didn't load in or are from a PS3 game
has nothing to do with CV1's story apparently, basically a reboot
systems/UI also a downgrade from the original
dei/esg infested, censored, awful translations

CV1 was a 5/10 game. This is more like a 2/10.
