How are you liking it?Finarfin wrote: ↑ January 17th, 2026, 17:57Vintage Story is Minecraft but for extreme autistic people who have nothing else to do
We have a Steam curator now. You should be following it. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44994899-RPGHQ/
Hytale
Too complex and the character design is fugly (not that Hytale's isn't).Algol wrote: ↑ January 17th, 2026, 17:44Agreed. No one seems to give a **** about Vintage Story, and I'm not sure why (other than it's Autism Simulator personified.)mynameismortis wrote: ↑ January 17th, 2026, 11:18It is modded minecraft being sold for 20 dollars.Vintage story > this
Neither captures the charm necessary to dethrone MineCraft.
Anyone knows if there is any legit MineCraft client which doesn't require a Microsoft account AND lets you have a skin AND isn't some crypto-mining faggotry?
I owned multiple Minecraft accounts so this isn't even piracy just me being anti Faggotsoft.
Played some more, think I've pretty much seen everything the game has to offer at this point.
The main biomes I saw was forest, desert, snow, volcanic, and that is about it. The other biomes are just sub biomes without much depth. i spent over an hour traveling south and came across nothing new.
There were some dungeons that had some unique themes but there wasn't many of them. Come across maybe 4 or 5 different themed dungeons max. one dungeon had a sign that said "under construction" on it. So the devs have not developed it yet ig.
DIdn't find any bosses. There was a golem type monster guarding a portal in a temple type thing. I killed it really easy, so i didnt bother to consider it some kind of boss.
Going through the portal took me to a floating island with some npc and a large temple. you cant go in the temple as it also has an "under construction" sign on it.
I didn't find any yeti monsters like there was in the trailer, and i could not find any dragon. people online said they found the dragon but it is asleep and can't be woken at the minute. im guessing the devs are still developing it.
there were like loads of armor and weapon types, but i felt like i could take on most content with just iron armor and weapons so i didnt bother to upgrade anything.
the music is really good, i don't know if i mentioned that. it is really well done.
the landscape generation looked nothing like they made it look in the screenshots on their blog. it felt more basic and a lot less grand.
the lighting feels really flat. no complex shaders like those you see in modded minecraft.
I don't really see any reason to keep playing it as this point. I went to the temple and have seen all biomes and most structures, and have killed most things. What am I supposed to do after that? There is no bosses, no dungeons that serve to unlock more content, no player abilities, no reason to build things. I felt immediately disinterested to do anything else. Pretty much done with it for now. It suffers from the exact same problem Minecraft has, in that nothing in the world pushes you to do anything.
At least in Valheim you have to upgrade your gear to explore new regions, and I think defeating bosses in that game unlocks new abilities for your character or something. You are also kind of forced to build because you end up with waves of enemies attacking your base, and they can destroy it too.

This is essentially my take, as well. I knew it was a scraped together build from awhile ago, but man... until they release the Adventure mode or more talented people start creating interesting RPG-like servers, there's not enough meat on the bone to spend too much time with this.DecadeRiptide wrote: ↑ January 17th, 2026, 23:28I don't really see any reason to keep playing it as this point.
