If 2 was made today, it'd be wokeslop. Chuds would be saying it destroyed 1. They'd kneel to Todd for rebooting it all with 3.

I would, anyway. I need to return to Tactics, I may consider it the true 2.
Tactics > FNV

More people need to play it, especially with Equilibrium and Redux fixing almost all of the bugs.

Tactics is great. It fits in the world established in 1 far better than any other of the follow up games.

I just broke Robert House out of jail, in the first Enclave mod mission. Killed a wave of NCR chucklenuts, but if you two recommend vanilla, then I'll give it a shot.

I've never played the Enclave mod, so I can't compare it.

I'm not sure what the story is, but the gist is Enclave vs NCR. It looked geared toward vehicles, so I wanted to play it.

Recently played Fallout 1 and half of background NPCs were black. Genius guy giving you upgraded plasma weapon and doctor of vault was also black. Leaders of best gangs (enemy of regulators) and that library faction are danger hair woman (Nicole). No clue what that guy rambling about.

Something that always bothered me about Caesar's Legion is its completely nonsensical policies or traditions that do not align with its goals whatsoever.

They treat women like animals during a period where women are key to maintaining populations for the legions continued war campaigns. At the very least, enslaved women wouldn't be so poorly mishandled, but instead given to lower rank soldiers as rewards for continued conquest. I'm also not aware of any exclusive citizenship model that Caesar promotes within the Legion, which is what elevated Romans from the barbarians and also offered substantial benefits. People don't just fight for no reason, if there isn't a stable and desirable society to fall back onto, people will simply find another to fight for or seize power and create it themselves. You can't have Pax Romana when there's no ******* Rome.
Caesar in NV has nothing to do with Rome. He's a Genghis Khan / Tamerlane / Attila like figure whose understanding of history is entirely informed by the scraps that survived the war. Rome was militaristic and that's just like us q.e.d.

The women treatment is obsidian libtardism. Avellone was against including legion as a faction you could align with. I'm sure they weren't unanimously in favour of depicting slavery, let alone inequality among the captives and how they were treated.

They don't work as a joinable faction, because they're supposed to be a force of nature, who either flood Hoover Dam or break on it.

"Women as broodmares to make new soldiers" is Josh Sawyer's particular autistic fixation, he did the same thing in Icewind Dale 2. He thinks he's thinking in the long term but it's also pretty shortsighted considering how in ~15 years when these soldiers are ready to go, will there even be a war for them to fight?

They should be a joinable faction because Caesar has no reason to reject your help. In fact he personally asks for it.

The Ephialtes route was for weenies who hated themselves, because the Mailman was a ***** and deserved to die.

They would weed the ones that don't make the cut and end up with a gene pool better suited for whatever it is that they wanted. Khan's linchpins in reverse.

I don't even consider tactics to be a Fallout because it changed the camera angle which gives the art a completely different look

Soyer wasn't always a liberal, he was at the peak of his libertarian phase when making FNV.

Video game score aggregates are fun to look at as standards plummet over time. They would have you believe that at least 10 games came out in 2024 alone that were better than the entire PlayStation 1 catalog.

I can't understand this through conventional means. NV is F3, but better. Its just a fact of life. FPS with iron sights = superior. Its as if Obsidian played 3 and tried mods that worked and people wanted. Unlike Bethesda, who just wiped the slate clean and outsourced their job to id. Its also tonally closer to Fallout than 2 was.

I had more crashes in Skyrim than NV. Proving you just need to be Todd Howard to win.

PC release too. It had a day 1(day 2?) patch that fixed hundreds of things, the reviewers did not play with that patch tho.
Patch 1.1.0 is stated to fix around 300+ quest and script errors/bugs as follows. According to Senior Producer Jason Bergman, Bethesda didn't provide a list of included fixes and changes because a complete change list would be the size of a novel.
And there were a bunch of patches after that too
