Mass Effect has a gynoid, but entire armies of them don't fit into the setting because the Geth AI rising up against the Quarians spooked the galaxy into outlawing any and all AI research. So, the amount of people willing and able to create an AI powerful enough to operate such a mobile platform is miniscule enough to be irrelevant.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:17Sci-fi allows for gynoids, which are much more plausible than female soldiers. Oh, didn't realize NIKKErs were robots, too. The in-universe reason can also be aesthetics. Modern civilizations don't do it as much, but the ancients liked to beautify their armor:Valter wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:24NIKKE and Nier Automata do it too. It's definitely more popular in the weebasphere.
Much more plausible than real women yes, but if you're designing an efficient fighting machine, why give it boobs?![]()

Why did she have metallic hair instead of a wig...
Right, so gynoids make more sense than female soldiers like Ashley.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:26watching foids get captured to be raped is also stupid coomershit

Supposedly it's made out of special sci-fi semi-liquid metal and can change shape to look like real hair.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:30Why did she have metallic hair instead of a wig...

Also, Mass Effect has cloning technology. Cerberus used cloned organs to fix up Shepard in ME2 and there's a whole *** clone of Shepard running around in the reddit DLC in ME3.J1M wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:11Be honest. An excuse it may be, as clearly the liberal nonsense is stronger in this game than I remember it.
As for the question of the body, I think she'd be more useful to humanity as research material than she would have ever been alive, since she's most likely a pajeeta.
What I mean by this point is that female soldiers don't make sense in this setting. But this setting has an entire race made to be alien eye candy, so female soldiers are the extension of that gooner (as Rusty would call it) mindset.

I think I'm gonna make a crazy-looking fugly ******* named BatarianSlayer or something so that the screenshots would look more unique, like yours.

I think it's because his face is so flat and all the characters have very flat faces in ME.

My spirit will rise from the grave and the world will see i was right.

Finished it. I'd never played it before, though I'd heard a lot about it.
It was very good. I almost have to eat my words a little. Letting the Council get killed was peak RPG kino. Seeing them excited when Humanity arrives, just to see them fly past, and look of shock on their face was actually quite based.
33 Hours of Legendary, went full Soldier using Assault Rifles. Took Commando for raw DPS. Tried to use the Lancer as much as I could, accepted I had to use the SPECTRE guns due to the bullet-sponge nature of some mobs. Ran with either Shredder or Tungsten ammunition, and whatever damage gain mods I could get.

If I remember correctly the military guy said it would take years.J1M wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:08"A long time" on a galactic scale? A billion years? Or a long time for a liberal canadian writer aka how long winter lasts?Reichspepe wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 19:04I think it was wrong to withhold it without telling the husband why (a female indian soldier being the focus here, with her stay-behind husband is peak libtardism and cringe in hindsight, but that's not the topic). He should know why and get to have a say in what happens to the body, if the wife hadn't told that in something like a will before. You can argue that the potential uses of that research would be neglible and that the sanctity of the body weighs higher, especially taking into consideration that the game states results would take a long time afaik. So either withholding or releasing with paragon or renegade options is both fitting depending what you opinion on this is.
Personally I think research would be the pragmatic thing to do, releasing the body the moral. Depends on who the person is I think, with no real 100% correct anser. If it was my dad? Release. If it's someone elses? It's sad but keep it for research.
As I play basically always renegade/based, I try to convince the husband the let the military keep it.
I just meant this was probably the subconscious reason people are more accepting of it.logincrash wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:24Don't know that the "be honest" part is about because this thought never occurred to me. But existence of such tech would cancel out the "we need every able body to fill our ranks" excuse if you can just clone an army of gigachad Spartans. You wouldn't want physically inferiour units of mentally unfit for war women in your armies at all. And women don't actually want to be in the military. The women in the modern US military only ever enlist to get ****** by scores of men in the barracks and then get veteran benefits (monetary and social headpats).J1M wrote: ↑ January 10th, 2026, 23:11Be honest. Not sure I agree that a clone army of men wouldn't also need a clone army of women to marry and have sex with. Since we are talking about people and not automatons.
Maybe it would make sense to have women in the military if the military was the majority of people living off the homeworld. Interesting idea to explore.
The enemy ambushes catch me off-guard sometimes, they're well-timed.

Mass Effect was was superior (so far at least) in every single way. What the **** is this ****? Even the UI is ugly.
Also, I need to add, why are we working for Cerberus? We literally had a quest to hunt them down at the end of ME1

Yeah I recall playing this after Jade Empire and ME1 being a slog for me to get through. just didn't like most of it at all. Only character I liked was Wrex. I got maybe an hour or so in when you can get to Zaeed or whatever his name is at some club planet area and I just lost interest after the 'Arch Angel' Garrus event. Never finished it or played ME3. I just didn't connect with any of the characters at all. Love me some space stuff but it was just a bore fest mostly. Biotic powers were cool and some OP but I never felt the 'hype' at all for it.TKVNC wrote: ↑ January 12th, 2026, 00:34Played about 15m of Mass Effect 2, and so far all I can say is, it's ******* ****.

I finished the first Gears of War last year, and i feel like ME2's combat is actually better. The first Gears is an extremely clunky game with garbage gunplay and bulletsponge enemies even on a normal difficulty.

Spent most of today in the Mako clearing out sidequests before starting Virmire. I'm level 55 with mostly tier 10 gear. Made the mistake of playing engineer and tech abilities fall off hard. Right now, I'm just having Liara and Wrex control things while I lay in with a sniper kitted with high explosive rounds.
