This mod was also removed from Nexus Mods.Ceowulf wrote: ↑ February 8th, 2025, 23:55Hate to necro an old thread... but has anyone anywhere managed to change the Hades 2 gods? They are... god awful.
Edit: I know someone posted that they made it "mod proof", but there are mods removing gods (there's a Hestia and Aphrodite removal tool on Nexus). So, yeah, thought it was worth an ask.
Edit 2: Finally had a chance to look properly, and, I'm not sure if it's ok, I'll delete if it's not, but once I got through the cesspit of posts from reddit, I actually found an excellent mod that replaced many of the Hades 2 portraits.
Hopefully it's ok if I post the link to a different site, for those that are interested?

"However, an interesting point brought up in that same email to Kotaku I quoted earlier is when Greg Kasavin says, “They’re called the Greek gods because they were worshiped in ancient Greece, not because they themselves are ethnically Greek.I found this to be a great explanation for how there can be designs that might not look like Ancient Greeks such as Ares or Athena in the game but still remain faithful to the source material because they do not have to look Greek to be Greek gods.”

What a ******* ******. Sure, the Greeks thought their Gods where nubian. And obese. What a complete lack of understanding of how the Greeks view the Olympians.roldet wrote: ↑ January 7th, 2026, 23:45"However, an interesting point brought up in that same email to Kotaku I quoted earlier is when Greg Kasavin says, “They’re called the Greek gods because they were worshiped in ancient Greece, not because they themselves are ethnically Greek.I found this to be a great explanation for how there can be designs that might not look like Ancient Greeks such as Ares or Athena in the game but still remain faithful to the source material because they do not have to look Greek to be Greek gods.”![]()

It's not a lack of understanding. It's being a liar.Cipher wrote: ↑ January 8th, 2026, 00:55What a complete lack of understanding of how the Greeks view the Olympians.
There seems to be vase art with characters depicted as pitch black (not african) in ancient Greece and the dark characters in first game also seems to be white people painted black. (Obese black woman in second game is inexcusable of course). Weird makeup and androgynous ***** design was what make them horrible most. Regardless, claim of the article is far-fetched, idk how ancient people would think that way and rest of the article is even worse claiming character design is not afraid to be attractive?
