Came to this forum for the outrage on KCD2, stayed and joined for the great RPG suggestions and (now) the unhinged weaponized autism and trolling lmao. And on the bonus side, I get to learn how to mod in Unity.

Keep going and never change you beautiful bastards.

I was going to ask who you're insinuating is autistic, and then I realized I genuinely can't tell if your comment is meant to mock or compliment... So maybe I actually am more autistic than I thought πŸ˜‚

(for the record, I'm not autistic. I swear.) lmao

"Autistic" in the sense of:
"fine, since you will not give me a wokeless game, I'll mod it myself".
*proceeds to remake the entire character roster, dialogues, interactions, etc.*
"And I'll ******* do it again!".

Which I find both hilarious and worthy of respect.

Tl;Dr yes, I meant it as a compliment. And the fact I got the urge to edit this comment and say that makes me think I am the autistic one lmao.

Hah! Gotcha.

All the woke **** really is tiresome. And annoying. The biggest problem I have with it all is that it's not really meant to foster 'diversity'. To me, fostering diversity would be making games in settings where different races make sense. Like, we have no shortage of games set in the Far East (Chinese, Japanese, etc), so why don't we have any in Africa? I can honestly say I'd love to play a western RPG set in the Songhai Empire, or ancient Ethiopia, or something like that. It would be a great way to present African history in a non-pandering, respectful manner, you could even get away with having NO WHITE CHARACTERS AT ALL, only Africans, and no one could really say anything about it being woke because it's historically accurate.

But that's not what's meant by 'diversity' to the wokies. To the wokies, diversity means injecting other races/ethnicities into traditionally European historical and cultural settings in order to SUBVERT EUROPEAN HISTORY AND CULTURE.

And some (myself included) emphatically say: **** THAT.

Changed the portrait a bit more to make her face more round instead of long, to match the model better... thoughts?

Looks very nice. Have you thought about giving her a more natural white woman curly hairstyle? Not that this is a requirement, looking really good as it is.

I think that's going to be pretty hard, to be honest. All the companions are unique characters/models and aren't built the same way as regular NPCs, and her hair in particular is complicated as it's actually 2 separate meshes/pieces (a base and a 'main')... and that's not even including her weird feather piece. I haven't had any luck figuring out how they're assigned to the model yet, and without that, if I try to change... hmm. I was just going to say if I change one without deleting the other, the other will still be visible, but as I type this I just got an idea. Without messing with the internal mechanics too much, I might be able to change both the 'base' and the 'main' hairpieces to the exact same mesh, so they'd just be on top of each other. That might work.

Stay tuned.

Is there a way to turn her into a man? I feel like it isn't a ginger --> red head conversion that SJWs do when it comes to paladins. Most players are white men who play paladin, so its a shaming ritual to replace what should be a white male paladin with a "disabled" black female.

Oh I'm sure there is, but as you know that's well beyond the scope of a fairly quick cosmetic change. That requires a deep-dive into dialogues to change all pronouns and references to gender etc.

@Dunadan My override works but only in the character creator and affecting only the player character in-game.
How were you able to change Pallegina, did you alter her Unity3d file?

Yea she's unique and has dedicated assets I'm playing around with. They're in the character unity3d files.

So I tried to change the hairstyle but it only half worked... I forgot that Pallegina (and all companion NPCs) have dedicated assets including texture files that are tailor-made for their meshes, so the hair textures do not behave with a different hairstyle. Pallegina's going to have to keep the big hair for now.

Would the default characters from the character creator be in there as well? Currently the default is the original Ocean Folk until you change the face or skin color, then the override takes effect.

Ah yea I forgot about that! That stymied me at first too but I figured it out. There's a default 'preset' that doesn't change with what you're changing so far. To fix this you need to override another file.

Open up "global.gamedatabundle" in Notepad++ and do a search for "CharacterCreationSettingsComponent". With that you'll find the array of presets you'll need to change :)

I was thinking of doing up a mod myself but if you're set on continuing, fly at her... just pass me some credit when you're done :D

I'm set on continuing and I'll definitely give you credit. Aside from editing some values of characters in Dragon Age Origins through the toolset, this would be my first mod and I'm learning as go. I'm hoping to take what I learn from doing this so I could work on making some mods for other games like the first Pillars of Eternity or even Kingmaker.

If you were thinking of doing up a mod yourself, don't let me stop you. :D I got inspired to learn how to mod because of Wokeless Wrath.
